At CES this week, Razer announced the latest in its lineup of flagship gaming laptops with the Razer Blade 16 (2025), its thinnest laptop ever, measuring just 0.59 inches thick. Building on its brand recognition as a mobile but high-performing gaming laptop, Razer upped the ante with a 32% thinner form factor than the previous version and some physical improvements to the device.

Under the hood, it will come with the AMD Ryzen 9 AI processor — the first time it’s being offered with this chip — paired with a QHD+ 240Hz OLED display with an advertised response time of as little as 0.2 milliseconds. The decision to move forward with an AMD chip instead of an Intel one is a bit of a shakeup, as the Blade has always been an Intel machine.

The Blade also comes with a refreshed keyboard, featuring an improved 1.5mm key travel distance for more responsive typing (and gaming). Physically, the device retains its durable reputation, with an anodized aluminum chassis and fingerprint-resistant coating. Regarding cooling, it’s equipped with Razer’s vapor chamber technology able to withstand the heat generated by overclocking and sustained gaming.

Regarding the GPU, the Blade 16 will come with the RTX 50 series graphics card that Nvidia just announced at CES, featuring 24GB of VRAM. The high cooling potential paired with this powerful new graphics card puts this device at the cutting edge of technology right now, particularly for a form factor that is impressively thin considering the hardware on board.

Regarding availability, there is not a definitive answer yet but it looks like it should be available in Q1 of 2025, which is sooner than I had originally anticipated, but hey, I’m here for it. Regarding pricing, the superior technology in this device will almost certainly place well into the high end of the price range.
