I Love This $25 Brooks Sneaker Lookalike from Walmart

Estimated read time 3 min read

As an avid runner and walking enthusiast living in NYC, sneakers are my go-to shoe. I’m obsessed with window-shopping trendy styles to potentially splurge on someday, and I currently own a few name-brand pairs from Adidas, New Balance and Brooks. And while they’re all very supportive, comfortable and stylish, I regularly don’t have the means to spend much on replacements when they get worn down.

That’s why I was ecstatic to find this new $25 pair from Walmart that looks very similar to my $140 Brooks sneakers. Don’t get me wrong—I love my Brooks and constantly recommend them to friends, but I’ve also let them in on these under-the-radar, high-quality low-cost sneakers.

I go to the gym four times a week on average, so having a supportive pair of sneakers to get me through my workouts is key. Until recently, I’ve relied on my Brooks to be my trusted sidekick, but I started swapping them for this new pair of Avia sneakers that Walmart sent me to test. I’ve tried similarly priced pairs that didn’t perform very well before, so I didn’t have high expectations. However, my feet felt well-cushioned and supported throughout my workouts, which usually involve stair climbing, ab training, weight lifting and Pilates.

I’ve also been testing these sneakers on the walking pad I use during my nine-to-five and easily log 10,000 steps (or more) a day from this and walking outside of my working hours. There was no break-in period, and my feet don’t feel sore while wearing them after walking for hours both inside and outside. Additionally, my feet tend to overpronate, and these shoes have helped keep them from turning inwards and potentially hurting my ankles. They feel secure, but not too snug, and it’s like they were specially crafted for my feet right from the get-go. The sneakers genuinely feel cloud-like.

And I’m not the only one who loves these shoes—other Walmart shoppers are glad they found the $25 alternative to expensive styles. One shopper, who usually opts for sneakers from Skechers and Nike, said they were very surprised by the quality of this shoe and that they fit flawlessly right out of the box. A nurse shared that they don’t come home with sore feet after 12-hour shifts anymore, thanks to these supportive shoes. Another reviewer said they are buying more of this pair of sneakers, noting that the look and quality of the shoe are as though they paid four times as much.
