How to Win a Year’s Worth of Free Food at TGI Fridays

Estimated read time 3 min read

June 21 is a day worth celebrating. It marks the longest day of the year — that is, the day with the most hours of sunlight — and since it falls on a Friday in 2024, TGI Fridays is not about to pass up a chance to coordinate a promotion. All week long through this Friday, June 21, fans of the casual chain restaurant can participate in a sweepstakes to win “a year’s worth of Fridays,” aka a TGI Fridays e-gift card worth $1,000.

While there’s no purchase necessary to enter the sweepstakes, you will have to get creative with it. First, follow @TGIFridays on Instagram, then create a post that somehow encapsulates “That Fridays Feeling” (a trademarked tagline of TGI Fridays), complete with the hashtags #TheLongestTGIFriday and #SweepstakesEntry. This can be either a post to the grid or to Stories, but you’ll have to tag @TGIFridays in whichever one you post; as social media pros are no doubt aware, participants will have to check their Instagram privacy settings to ensure their entries are visible to the TGI Fridays official account.

In total, 21 winners will be selected via random drawing for the $1,000 e-gift cards. That might not sound like very many, but according to the official rules, each participant can submit an entry once per hour, for a total of 192 attempts at winning the sweepstakes. So, just how badly do you want months of free Mozzarella Sticks?

Those who don’t have time to dedicate their lives to the mission of free food can still score some good discounts. This Friday only, on June 21, TGI Fridays will make its $5 Happy Hour menu available all day long in celebration of the longest Friday of the year. Dine-in customers can choose from a selection of discounted items, including mai tais, Long Island iced tea, Tito’s vodka, Bulleit Bourbon, craft beers, and bar bites such as Loaded Potato Skins and Whiskey-Glazed Chicken Slammers.

“We strive to bring the energy of Friday to every day of the week, and are excited to kick off the summer and celebrate our fans with the chance to enjoy free Fridays all year long,” said TGI Fridays CEO Weldon Spangler in the press release.

Though some of us have already been in the summer spirit for weeks, the season really does only officially begin this Friday. So why not raise a reasonably priced glass, or a fistful of tot-chos, to all the good things to come?
