Estimated read time 3 min read

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile lets you relive some nostalgia on the Verdansk and Rebirth Island maps, and you’re not limited to touchscreen controllers here. You just need a controller with Bluetooth capabilities, and we’ll walk you through the steps for getting it connected on Warzone Mobile.

How to pair controller with Warzone Mobile

First, make sure you have Bluetooth Enabled on your mobile device, which is done through the device’s settings. Then, you can pair your controller.

Some supported options include:

  • Xbox Wireless Controller for Series X|S
  • Xbox Elite Wireless Controller for Series X|S
  • Sony PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller
  • Sony PS4 DualShock 4 Controller

Every controller will be different, but to enable pairing on an Xbox Wireless Controller, you’d press the small button just to the left of the USB port on the controller, and for the PS5 DualSense you’d press and hold the Share button and the PlayStation button at the same time until they flash blue.

Within your device’s Bluetooth settings, locate the controller you’re trying to pair and connect to that device. It will be labeled as Xbox Wireless Controller or whatever the controller type is you’re trying to pair.

Next, open the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile app. It doesn’t automatically indicate anything on the screen or in the settings that you have a controller connected. Just make sure your controller is turned on, and all you need to do is press a button or move the thumbsticks to get the “Controller Connected” message to appear.

Just beware that if your mobile device is left idle, the Bluetooth connection may disconnect, and you will have to reconnect your device to the controller using the process above.

Most of the menu functionality in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is still touchscreen-only, like choosing a playlist or customizing a loadout, but Activision says this is to be expected and not an issue with your controller. The game should seamlessly switch over to full controller functionality once you start a match of battle royale or multiplayer.
