This old-school Holiday Pretzel Mix is one that everyone looks forward to year after year. Mini pretzel sticks and mixed nuts tossed in seasoned butter made with Worcestershire, Dijon, garlic, pepper, and cayenne. This mix is the yummiest. Each salty pretzel is perfectly seasoned, buttery, crunchy, and spicy. Serve these at your next party, or package them up for gifting!

This is the only time of year I ever make food like this, but that’s what makes these holiday recipes feel so special. We don’t make these recipes year round. So when the time comes to cook and bake our favorite holiday recipes, everyone is most excited!!

I love holiday traditions! Growing up in the Midwest, Chex Mix was very big around the holidays. If your family didn’t make Check Mix, they’d make some kind of salty pretzel or maybe both!

My parents always have a house full of people. The second my family starts piling in, they’re looking for the snacks. This is the one time of year I’m constantly making recipes to snack on before dinner.

We’ve always made my mom’s Chex mix on Christmas Eve, but for the past few years, I started making these salty pretzels with a kick. We’ve all fallen in love with this retro-style recipe. Once you start snacking, you can’t stop!

This is a great recipe to make and gift as well. Teachers, friends, and coworkers will all adore these pretzels!

Steps

Step 1: arrange the pretzels and nuts

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. The parchment is more for easier clean up than anything else. You can decide to use it or not!

Then, spread a bag of pretzels out over the pan. Add a handful of mixed nuts. My nuts are roasted and salted.

Step 2: make the butter sauce

Mix the melted butter with Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon pepper seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne, and some black pepper.

Pour the butter sauce over the pretzels and nuts. Toss the pretzels for a good 2-3 minutes, making sure the butter sauce coats every pretzel!

Step 3: bake

All that’s left to do now is bake! Low and slow for about 30-40 minutes. I like some of my pretzels a little more toasty and some to be done just right!

For even cooking, toss the mix 2 to 3 times throughout baking.

Enjoy!

My favorite way to serve these is family-style. Everyone begins to shuffle in around 4 or 5 pm, looking for appetizers and a before-dinner drink. It really wouldn’t be the holidays without these pretzels, a great cheese board (times 10 because I make them every night), and a festive drink!

Another way to serve these is to gift them. Package them in a cookie tin or find a cute holiday food bag. These are great hostess gifts, teacher gifts, or gifts for friends and family! You can even ship them!

I’m super excited to share this recipe with you all! I hope you love the pretzels as much as we do!
