Hitting the Pool or Beach? You Need One of These Food-Themed Floats

Estimated read time 2 min read

They say you shouldn’t eat before getting in the pool, but when it comes to bringing food itself into the pool, I think the jury is still out — especially when we’re talking about large, inflatable slices of pizza, avocados, and popsicles. To be sure, floaties are always an important part of any pool or beach adventure, but I’m even more interested when they look like my favorite bites and pieces of cookware. Like, getting some sun is great, but there’s definitely a weird, meta dimension added when you’re doing it while resting in a giant, uh, cast iron skillet.

This summer, prepare your snacks in advance or order pizza before you hit the pool so you can spend more time with your actual favorite foods (by floating on them). On that note, here are our favorite food-themed pool floats.

Great Jones Great Float

Great Jones Goods

This float from Great Jones is based on the brand’s popular King Sear cast iron skillet. It comes in a broccoli color, and should offer plenty of space to lay down. Best of all, unlike some cast iron, you probably won’t have to worry about rust.

Jasonwell Inflatable Avocado Pool Float

Amazon

This large avocado features a removable “pit” that’s really an inflatable beach ball. Just make sure to wear enough sunscreen — avocado toast is great, but not when you’re the one getting toasted.

Sunnylife Oversized Inflatable Popsicle

Walmart

This half-off oversized popsicle clocks in at 63 inches long, meaning there should be more than enough room for you to lie down. Reviewers point out that kids especially love this one.

Inflatable Donut Pool Tube

Amazon

It’s just a big donut! Watch out for Homer Simpson!

Joyin Giant Inflatable Pizza Slice

Amazon

This huge slice of pizza is over 70 inches long, making us regret all the small and medium pizzas we’ve ever ordered. Pro tip: Order eight of these, and make one giant pie with all your friends.
