Here Is the Insanely Stacked Cast Coming to Black Mirror’s New Season

Black Mirror is back and this next season is full of stars. Netflix just announced that Charlie Brooker’s unforgettable series will return for a seventh season in 2025 with an incredible list of actors joining the show for six total episodes. What stories will they be telling? That we don’t know. But one of them will be a sequel to one of the show’s most famous episodes, “USS Callister.”

Here’s the list of names coming to Black Mirror season 7:

  • Awkwafina (Shang Chi)
  • Milanka Brooks (Mum And I Don’t Talk Anymore)
  • Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who)
  • Emma Corrin (Deadpool and Wolverine)
  • Patsy Ferran (Firebrand)
  • Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers)
  • Lewis Gribben (Blade Runner 2099)
  • Osy Ikhile (Citadel)
  • Rashida Jones (The Office)
  • Siena Kelly (Domino Day)
  • Billy Magnussen (Game Night)
  • Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean)
  • Cristin Milioti (Palm Springs)
  • Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids)
  • Issa Rae (Barbie)
  • Paul G. Raymond (Horrible Histories)
  • Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish)
  • Jimmi Simpson (Westworld)
  • Harriet Walter (Succession)

Just a murderer’s row of talent. And, of course, we don’t know who most of them are going to play… save for maybe Cristin Miloti, Jimmi Simpson, Billy Magnussen, Osy Ikhile, Paul G. Raymond, and Milanka Brooks. They all appeared in the original, season four, “USS Callister” episode, so you’d imagine they’ll be coming back to reprise those roles somehow. Noticeably absent from the list however is Jesse Plemons, who also starred in the episode. His character was kind of killed off though so if he did return, it would probably be treated as a surprise.

The news came along with this weird, cryptic social media post. A post that, if you pause it and scroll through slowly, has a ton of other (less recognizable) names as well as what appear to be lines of dialogue that could potentially be from this season or, maybe, are intended to be creepy and random. Lines like “A rose for a rose,” “Oh dear, is the entire internet wrong?” and “My lawyers will fuck you into a barb wire coffin.” Nice stuff like that. Check it out.

Beyond that, all Netflix is saying is “Additional information about specific episodes and characters is under wraps. The series is currently filming and will be returning to Netflix in 2025.”

I kind of fell off Black Mirror a few seasons ago but always said to myself “That’s a show I’m going to pop on when there’s nothing else to watch.” Unfortunately, there has always been something else to watch. But this cast and going back to one of the series’ most famous episodes could be what brings me back. What about you?
