The Nintendo Switch is a great console for when you want to park off on a couch and have some fun, but did you know it can also help you work up a sweat? With the latest entry in the Fitness Boxing series, not only can you get in a quick cardio session, you’ll do so while world-famous virtual idol Hatsune Miku encourages you to throw some hands at your screen.
$50
Like the previous Fitness Boxing games, this new one will see you launches jabs, straights, and hooks while ducking and weaving to the rhythm of the music. You’ll get your heart rate up in the classic Fitness Boxing Mode, or you can try out the brand-new Miku Exercise and listen to 24 original songs from Miku and her friends, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, and Megurine Luka. You can also fine-tune the experience with the included selection of warm-up options, difficulty settings, and the ability to practice individual moves.
If you’re goal-orientated, you’ll also be happy to know that there are daily stamps that record your exercise history and the goal management system from older Fitness Boxing games has been carried over. Priced at $50, Fitness Boxing Featuring Hatsune Miku will be available starting July.
In you can’t wait that long and you’d prefer to have the deadliest martial artist alive coaching you instead, you can also check out Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star. This game includes guided lessons from Kenshiro, the grandmaster of the fighting style Hokuto Shinken, which features tickle attacks to make people violently explode. Just kidding, of course, he won’t teach you tickle attacks. He will teach you how to become as shredded as him, though. Okay, that’s probably not true either. What is true: You get to work out with Kenshiro.
