If you’re a fan of “Gilmore Girls” or Lauren Graham, the past couple of weeks have been a treat.
Eight years after the “Year in the Life” revival, where (spoiler alert!) Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Luke (Scott Patterson) finally tied the knot, a new Walmart ad is giving fans all the feels. The commercial recreates the fictional Stars Hollow and Luke’s Diner with incredible detail, reuniting Graham and Patterson with co-star Sean Gunn, who reprises his role as the quirky Kirk.
The ad centers on—what else?—coffee, Lorelai’s signature obsession. In a nod to the series, Graham delivers the iconic “Coffee. Coffee. Coffee.” line, only for Luke to hand her a coffee maker instead of a cup of java. The short video is a burst of Gilmore Girls nostalgia, letting fans imagine their favorite couple living happily ever after—and giving us an inordinate amount of joy in the process.
What Lauren Graham Snacks on Behind the Camera
In real life, Graham shares Lorelai’s love of coffee. In an interview with Airmail, the actress and best-selling author revealed her go-to breakfast is coffee (sometimes paired with a green juice if she’s feeling ambitious). If she’s at a hotel, she’ll order poached eggs on toast.
But when it comes to snacks, Graham has a clear favorite: North Fork Potato Chips.
What Makes North Fork Chips Special?
There’s nothing like opening a new bag of potato chips—the satisfying “pop” of the bag, the wafting aroma of crispy potatoes, and that first crunchy bite. For Graham, this moment of bliss comes courtesy of North Fork Potato Chips.
What makes these chips so great? Graham doesn’t say, but we looked into it.
- Farm Fresh: The potatoes are grown on the brand’s farm in Long Island’s North Fork region. That means the potatoes used to make the chips go from soil to barn to processing all in the same place. They’re fresher than the potatoes many of the big brands use.
- Thick-Cut: The potatoes are cut twice as thick as traditional chips, giving them a hearty potato flavor.
- Kettle-Cooked Quality: These chips are cooked in sunflower oil and seasoned with just salt—no additives, preservatives, trans fats, or cholesterol. Plus, kettle cooking uses less oil than traditional methods but delivers an extra crispy texture. (Fun fact: In our taste test of 12 chip brands, three of the top five were kettle-cooked.)
- Sustainably Made: The farm uses biodiesel, which doesn’t change the taste of the chips but earns extra points for sustainability.
- Flavors for Every Craving: North Fork chips come in seven flavors: Original, Honey Mustard, Rosemary & Garlic, Sweet Potato, Barbecue, Salt & Vinegar, and Sour Cream & Onion. (Graham hasn’t shared her favorite flavor yet.)
Where to Find North Fork Chips
Intrigued? Want to snack like Lauren Graham? North Fork chips are sold in stores throughout New York and online. If you’re ordering online, get ready to open your wallet: a case of twelve 6-ounce bags costs $29.99 (about $5 per bag), plus shipping, which starts at $20.
But hey, if the cost makes you hesitate, we have just one thing to say: “Oy, with the poodles already!”
