Frozen Waffles Recalled From Aldi, Target, and Walmart Stores Nationally Due To Potential Listeria Contamination

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports that TreeHouse Foods, Inc. has recalled frozen waffles because they have the potential to be contaminated with listeria, which can cause potentially life-threatening foodborne illness.

Routine testing at Treehouse’s manufacturing plant identified the potential problem. The frozen waffles were distributed throughout the United States and Canada and packed in various formats under different brand names listed below.

How To Identify the Recalled Frozen Waffles

More than 600 varieties of frozen waffles are affected by the recall. TreeHouse Foods has a comprehensive list of the brands, varieties, and identifying information on its website. Additionally, the products were sold at more than a dozen retailers.

Brands include (but aren’t limited to) Great Value, sold at Walmart; Harris Teeter; Good & Gather, sold at Target; Breakfast Best, sold at Aldi; Clover Valley, sold at Dollar General; Publix; Simple Truth; and Kodiak Cakes.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

What To Do If You Purchased the Recalled Waffles

Do not consume the waffles if you have them in your freezer. Any of the products on TreeHouse’s list should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for a refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 800-596-2903, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CST).
