Throw an Easter egg hunt

Easter would not be complete without a good old-fashioned egg hunt. First, plan your route. Next, lay your cues and treats, then you can sit back and watch the hunt unfold. Egg and spoon race

Kids will love getting involved in a spot of egg and spoon racing. To make it Easter-appropriate, just swap regular eggs for chocolate eggs. Award the winners with mock gold medals or certificates, or simply let them enjoy their hard-earned chocolate egg!

Easter tin can coconut shy

Raid your recycling box for cleaned-out tin cans. Remove all the labels, then stick tape all along the top rim and fold over the inside to seal off any sharp edges. Stick on a picture of an Easter egg to match your party’s theme. Set up a coconut shy on a garden table by stacking up the metal cans in a pyramid to be knocked down with a mini bean bag. Children can then line up to take a turn and win a mini chocolate egg when they knock down the pyramid.

Pin the tail on the bunny

Spend the afternoon playing a good old game of pin the tail on the donkey, but with an Easter twist. Print off a picture of a rabbit — or brush up on your art skills and draw one on a large piece of paper or cardboard — then cut out little tails and stick a bit of Blu-Tack on the back. Who will manage to emerge triumphant?
