Dunkin’ is marking the first days of summer with a brand-new seasonal menu — including two coffees that pay homage to its sprinkle-topped donuts. After all, the Massachusetts-based chain may have dropped the “Donuts” from its moniker in 2018, but there’s no doubt that the holey treat still goes hand-in-hand with its brewed coffee.
Starting today, Dunkin’ locations nationwide will offer a “drinkable twist on coffee” by way of the Blueberry Donut Iced Coffee and Vanilla Frosted Donut Signature Latte, both of which are blessed with Donut Swirl — meant to be added to coffee and espresso beverages. A spokesperson for the brand tells Food & Wine that the former brims with blueberry flavors alongside notes of pastry and sweet doughnut sugar, while the latter combines espresso with flavors of vanilla frosting and sweet pastries. And to keep things extra fun, it’s topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and, yes, sprinkles.
The menu’s summer refresh also includes several new (and returning) items to further soothe that sweet tooth: the Watermelon Burst Donut is filled with watermelon-flavored jelly and coated in sweet red sugar; then there’s the Chocolate Chunk Cookie that’s got “chunks and morsels of chocolate, pretzel bits,” and the Kiwi Watermelon Dunkin’ Refresher — available with either green tea or lemonade.
“Summer is a time for discovery and delight, and at Dunkin’, we’re embracing that spirit with our vibrant new menu,” said Dunkin’s vice president of category management Beth Turenne. “We’ve turned familiar favorites into innovative drinks and added exciting new food items to our menu, making sure our customers have what they need to power through their day. Whether it’s a delicious Blueberry Donut Iced Coffee on a sunny morning or a Kiwi Watermelon Refresher after a long day, we’re here to energize every moment, serving as the perfect sidekick for warmer weather adventures.”
Craving something with a bit more nutritional value? According to the company, the Green Goddess Wrap — a savory sandwich packed with egg whites, farro, sundried tomatoes, spinach, feta, and that herbaceous dressing — also debuts today. And from May 15–31, Dunkin’ Rewards member will get to try it for just $3.
You’ve likely already scrolled past numerous iterations of the viral green goddess chopped salad on your social media feeds (or perhaps even tested out a wedge salad version), so it’s no surprise that Dunkin’ is trying a grab-and-go version. Albeit, we will admit that they’re a year or two late to the trend. Predictably, Reddit sleuths on the r/DunkinDonuts thread have already circulated leaked details on the Green Goddess Wrap and other menu items.
The final addition? The brand is also planning to drop a lineup of fresh merchandise on its website. In the coming days, Dunkin is also planning to drop several new reusable cups and other merchandise on its website… just in case that you didn’t feel like toting a sprinkles-topped latte to the office.
