We love getting a sneak peek inside our favorite celebs’ bags, from Jennifer Garner to, most recently, Dua Lipa. The pop star just shared the contents in her Hermès Birkin purse in a video with Vogue, and it proved that she’s 100% a foodie.
From specialty matcha to remnants of her favorite snacks, here’s all the food and drink finds that Lipa has to carry with her at all times.
For starters, Lipa loves having “a lot of snacks” in her bag. While the snacks and sweets in her bag may vary day-to-day, she gives a small bag of trail mix as an example. Trail mix is a satisfying, salty-sweet handful that’s so easy to pack, so we’re with Lipa on this one. (Our Homemade Trail Mix recipe is so delish, it might even have you levitating).
One of the “very important” things that the Training Season singer pulls out of her bag is a small bottle of Yellow Bird Habanero Hot Sauce.
“[I] always carry hot sauce with me ‘cause I feel like it makes every meal better,” Lipa says. Spicy food can have some health benefits, as it may help reduce blood pressure and help you feel more satisfied, so the star’s habit of adding a kick to her food can be healthful *and* flavorful—a winning combination.
She also always has her travel essentials on hand—including an eye mask, bandages, compression socks and throat pastilles. These throat relieving drops are especially helpful for a singer on the go. Lipa also notes that she swears by mini packets of electrolyte powder. Electrolytes help boost hydration and energy, and electrolyte powders that you can add to your water are a convenient way to get yours in.
Another item that Lipa unexpectedly has in her purse is yuzu matcha powder and furikake, both of which she bought in Japan. Yuzu is a sour citrus fruit that is bound to taste delicious as a flavor in Lipa’s favorite matcha. Matcha is also great for your heart, gut and brain, and you can control the sugar when preparing it yourself, as the singer prefers. Plus, furikake is a dried seasoning that is primarily made with bonito (dried fish), sesame seeds, seaweed, salt and sugar. Lipa personally loves sprinkling it on rice to make it “really fun,” but you can use it as a garnish for these Crispy Potato Latkes with Ikura or Seared Sesame-Tuna Bowls.
If you thought that was it for the singer’s seasoning stash, think again: she also keeps a “very important” container of chili flakes on hand, proving her love for spice even more.
Overall, we’re impressed with not only how much Lipa can keep in her purse (she may as well be Houdini!), but the contents inside of it. At the end of the video, the singer says that her bag perfectly sums up her life: “very deep, chaotic, it’s fun and there’s lots of flavor.”
