If you’re an anime fan, chances are you enjoy manga–but if not, we highly recommend giving it a shot. While anime is arguably more popular and easier than ever to watch thanks to streaming services such as Crunchyroll, sometimes the original manga is the best way to experience these stories. Luckily, now is a great time to dive into the medium, as Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, and Akira box sets have been massively discounted. All three collections are also included in Amazon’s B2G1 promotion, along with hundreds of other manga deals.
Starting with the Demon Slayer Complete Box, the collection is down to just $115 (normally $245). This gigantic collection of all 23 volumes of the hit manga ships inside of a beautiful slipcase.
Demon Slayer is set in Taisho-era Japan and follows kind-hearted swordsman Tanjiro Kamado on a quest to cure his sister of her demonic infection. The anime adaptations have received rave reviews so far and only scratch the surface of the Demon Slayer saga, so if you have an anime fan in your life, this makes for an excellent gift.
Another great manga series that has had its price slashed is My Hero Academia. Amazon is offering the first 20 volumes of the series for just $96 instead of the usual $180 that it retails for.
The My Hero Academia Box Set 1 also comes in a slick slipcase cover, a full-color double-sided poster, and an exclusive 48-page booklet featuring never-before-seen bonus illustrations and author commentary. This popular manga and anime series centers on an academy where super-powered students train to become world-saving superheroes. It’s one of the most popular ongoing Shonen series, thanks to its colorful cast, fantastic art, and truly epic battles.
If you plan on picking up both the Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia sets and are looking for a third to take advantage of Amazon’s B2G1 deal, the Akira 35th Anniversary manga box set is also eligible for the promotion, and available for just $126 (normally $220).
The Akira 35th Anniversary hardcover set includes the full series presented with the original art and right-to-left reading format, rather than the modified left-to-right orientation of the initial English run. Fans of the 1988 Akira movie will want to check this out, as the film only covers a small, truncated portion of the manga’s full story.
While these manga box set discounts are worth grabbing, hundreds of other items are also eligible for Amazon’s B2G1 sale, including books, graphic novels, tabletop RPGs, and, of course, more manga. Check out a few more of our Amazon B2G1 roundups below.
