Any Super Bowl party host knows you can’t watch The Big Game without a plethora of snacks. Especially if your team didn’t make it to the final matchup, you might only be in it for the food, commercials, and halftime show.
Whether or not your team punches their ticket to New Orleans this year, there’s a way for everyone to win the snacking Lombardi, thanks to one of our favorite dip brands.
Dips are the perfect game day snack, and this year, instead of just the classic Buffalo chicken, French onion, and seven-layer, Dean’s Dips is making your spread even tastier with the release of five new products.
You might know Dean’s as the maker behind the fan-loved French Onion dip in the green tub. But this launch, which includes a whole new line of Dean’s Cantina Dairy Dip, might just pull the new offerings out from behind French Onion’s massive shadow.
Dean’s Releases 5 New Dips
Dean’s new Creamy Dill, Jalapeño Popper, Mexican Street Corn, Guacamole Flavored, and Fiesta Taco dips are headed to stores now.
Both the garlicky Creamy Dill and the spicy, cheesy Jalapeño Popper dips are available in 16-ounce tubs. The new Dean’s Cantina Dairy Dip line, which includes the Mexican Street Corn, Guacamole Flavored, and Fiesta Taco dips, comes in 12-ounce containers.
Dean’s Mexican Street Corn dip is inspired by the cheesy mayo-and-lime-coated elote, and features real pieces of corn. The Guacamole Flavored dip is a creamy, velvety smooth new take on guac. And the Fiesta Taco dip is exactly what you’d expect: a creamy dip that tastes like tacos.
The dips are hitting select retailers nationwide now, just in time for the biggest night in snacking. If you aren’t sure which one to pick up first, I tried Dean’s five new dips, and here is my honest review.
My Honest Review
As a Dean’s French Onion enthusiast, it’s hard to imagine choosing another dip over the delicious creamy, oniony flavor. The good news is my fridge—and heart—is big enough for more favorites, and I might have just found a few.
Dean’s new Creamy Dill dip is the ultimate option for those who love Trader Joe’s Chips in a Pickle—or any other dill pickle-flavored chips. The dip is loaded with fresh dill flavor that’s delicious on potato chips but would also make a fantastic vegetable dip.
Who doesn’t love a spicy jalapeño filled with creamy cheese on game day? If you want to try a new version of the classic Jalapeño Popper, this dip packs a punch, but with a good balance of cooling creaminess. I do wish this dip had a bit more cheese flavor, but you can always remedy that by topping with your own shredded Cheddar.
Aldi shoppers know the German grocer has had an elote-inspired dip for years. Dean’s new Mexican Street Corn dip is much spicier and smokier than Aldi’s version. So, for those who don’t have an Aldi in your neighborhood—or want a hotter dip—Dean’s has something for you.
I won’t lie, a creamy guacamole dip threw me off when I heard about it. However, I’m glad I gave it a chance. Dean’s Guacamole Flavored dip is a mix between traditional guacamole and a sour cream dip, so you get the smooth avocado flavor and texture in a tangier format. I’m curious to try the dip as an accompaniment to quesadillas, tacos, or nachos rather than just on a plain tortilla chip.
Out of the five new dips, my personal favorite is Dean’s Cantina Fiesta Taco. It reminds me of my high school teacher’s taco dip, which is one of my go-to easy recipes made with sour cream, cream cheese, taco seasoning, and cheese. All Dean’s Fiesta Taco dip is missing (in my opinion) is shredded Mexican-style cheese. Dean’s version is heavy on the taco seasoning, which I absolutely love, and I’m positive this new dip will be a staple in my fridge, alongside the French Onion, for months to come.
