There’s an active recall on a popular Costco deli item sold in 16 states, according to a recent company announcement sent to customers. This is due to two undeclared allergens in the product.
The recalled product is the Ancient + Grain Vegetable Salad marked with an item number #25247. The salads were pulled from shelves as they were mismarked and do not declare soy and almonds on the labeling, which are allergens. The affected salads were sold in the following states: California, Connecticut, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington.
Those that are allergic or have a sensitivity to either soy or almonds are urged to not consume this salad. Instead, return it to your local Costco for a full refund. If you have a soy or almond allergy, you could experience severe symptoms of anaphylaxis when eating this product. Signs of anaphylaxis include hives, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and in serious cases, trouble breathing, tightness in the throat, rapid heartbeat and cardiac arrest. If you are showcasing any of these symptoms after consuming or handling this salad, call 911 immediately.
