Estimated read time 1 min read

A recall was just announced on Greek yogurt sold at Costco, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). This is due to mold found in the product.

The Kirkland Signature branded yogurt impacted was sold in 24-packs, have a printed UPC of “0 96619 22215 5” and a best by date written as “2024 AU 10.” The Greek yogurts recalled were sold in Canadian Costco locations in the following provinces: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan.

If you have this recalled product in your refrigerator, dispose of it or return it to your local Costco location. While the CFIA notes that the microbial contamination is “non-harmful,” the presence of mold in food can cause illness to consumers. It’s best to avoid food with unusual mold growth to lower your risk of food poisoning.

For more information about this recall, contact the CFIA toll-free at 1-800-442-2342 or email information@inspection.gc.ca.
