Cheez-It Opened the Cheez-In Diner in Woodstock, New York

If last summer’s news about the Cheez-It Stop at Joshua Tree National Park left you seething with envy, then you need to start planning a summer road trip in the exact opposite direction.

Cheez-It has announced a brand new limited-time roadside attraction for summer 2024: the Cheez-In Diner, a destination in the Catskills of New York where every menu item centers on cheesy, salty baked snack crackers. Yes, even the dessert menu.

Situated in Woodstock, New York — approximately two hours’ drive from New York City — the Cheez-In Diner builds on the viral fame of last year’s brand activation. While California’s “Cheez-It Stop” imitated a gas station, complete with a Cheez-It cracker-dispensing pump, this new immersive roadside experience — which will only be open for one week — features a menu full of Cheez-It-infused diner classics. Here’s an overview of the savory side of the menu:

  • A Cheezburger featuring pimento cheese, lettuce, pickles, and an “Extra Big Cheez-It cracker” (sounds a whole lot like the Taco Bell Big Cheez-It, which saw a limited run in 2022)
  • A cracker-crusted Big Grilled Cheez sandwich
  • Cheezy Chicky Tendies coated in Cheez-It crumbs (with the option to add spicy seasoning and a side of either hot honey or Hidden Valley Cheezy Ranch)
  • Baked white cheddar Mac & Cheez-It topped with a cracker crumble
  • Cheez-It Fries in three varieties: Original, White Cheddar, or Hot & Spicy (withthe option to add melted pimento cheese sauce)
  • A side of Cheez-It Biscu-it featuring “tasty layers bursting with Cheez-It crackers,” served with honey butter

Since it wouldn’t be a roadside diner without sweets, the brand has infused savory snack crackers into a few dessert options, too. The Deluxe Cheez-It Milkshake is a vanilla base blended with Cheez-Its, then garnished with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, a caramel-and-cheese-cracker rim, and, of course, a single chocolate-dipped Cheez-It on top instead of a cherry.

Finally, we have the Sweet-N-Salty Cheezcake with a cracker crust, caramel drizzle, and some Extra Big Cheez-It crackers. In case you’re keeping track, the word “Cheez-It” has already appeared more than 15 times in this article.

Beyond the new innovations on the diner menu, an on-site tasting station allows customers to create a custom blend of various hard-to-find Cheez-It flavors. This is entirely free of charge, as is the Cheez-It Jukebox, which accepts payment in crackers rather than coins. Something that’s not free of charge, but abundantly available at the Cheez-In Diner, is an array of retro merch, which the press release describes as “a variety of groovy T-shirts, a trendy trucker hat, a classic diner coffee mug, and all kinds of cute collectibles like stickers, postcards and more.”

The diner, located at 261 Tinker Street in Woodstock, New York, will be open to the public for one week only, from May 20–26, in the leadup to Memorial Day. From Monday to Thursday, the hours are 4–9 p.m. local time, but from Friday to Sunday, it’ll stay open until midnight. It all makes sense because a Deluxe Cheez-It Milkshake sounds like a good pairing for late-night revelry.
