Just a little over two weeks after Apple announced at WWDC that it would integrate OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology with Apple Intelligence later this year, a Mac version of ChatGPT itself has arrived.

On Tuesday, OpenAI posted that a desktop app for MacOS was available for all users after being announced in May. ChatGPT, perhaps the most popular piece of software for utilizing artificial intelligence, has about 150 million users. At its core, ChatGPT is a chatbot that can answer questions and perform tasks based on plain-language questions you ask. In early June, the platform suffered outages that disrupted service for some users.

ChatGPT for Mac also integrates itself in a way that allows users to access its features by using an Option + Space shortcut from anywhere in MacOS. That shortcut opens up a menu with options that include uploading a file or photo, taking a screenshot or photo or opening the full ChatGPT app.

A headphone icon on the right of ChatGPT’s search bar can start a voice conversation with ChatGPT from the desktop. Users can choose from among four voice styles for these conversations, Breeze, Ember, Cove and Juniper.

So far, there’s no official ChatGPT for Windows, but that is expected later this year. Microsoft has invested billions of dollars in OpenAI’s technology.
