CES 2025 Home Security Roundup: Upgrades for Locks, Doorbells and More

Estimated read time 1 min read

At CES 2025, companies asked, “What if we combined every front door security device into one?” The answer from companies like Lockly and TCL was a do-it-all video smart lock, which could become the go-to home security device in the coming years.

These devices can auto-lock doors, allow for remote openings and let you send passes to friends or family, like smart locks. They can also recognize humans with high-res cameras and let you talk through two-way audio like video doorbells. And they have built-in smart display capabilities so you can look right through the door at who’s there without the need for a peephole or phone.

Lockly’s version, the Vision Prestige, proved especially impressive with its touchscreen keypad, fingerprint detection and compatibility with Apple devices right from the box. At $500, it will also be very expensive when it launches later this year.
