Brooklyn Beckham Shares the Dish He Made Wife Nicola Peltz on Their Honeymoon

When it comes to travel, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham is an expert. With David and Victoria Beckham as his parents, this shouldn’t be a surprise.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to have been able to travel around the world,” Beckham tells EatingWell. “Of course, traveling in Europe is always special to me and I love experiencing different places and their cultures through food.”

That’s why the former model and current cooking influencer teamed up with Trainline to share recipes and guides inspired by his travels via rail. Ranging from his take on Chicken Parmigiana on Focaccia to the UK food markets he considers “must-visits,” it’s clear Beckham knows a thing or two about the European food scene. 

In this exclusive Q&A, we chatted more with the star about his favorite travel meals and snacks, including the underrated dish he thinks more people should try and the dinner he made for his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, on their honeymoon. 

EatingWell: Is there a dish that’s underrated that you think more people should try?

Beckham: One of the things I’ve learned while living in the states is that most Americans don’t know what a sausage roll is. It’s a classic, go-to snack that is an iconic staple in the UK, yet it remains a mystery to many Americans. If you’re not familiar, a sausage roll is a portable snack that combines seasoned pork, onion, garlic and a touch of Parmesan cheese, all wrapped in a flaky, golden crust. It’s perfect for taking with you while traveling, making it an ideal snack for train journeys and picnics abroad.

Once you have a sausage roll, it’s something you’ll want to make over and over again. It’s versatile enough to be enjoyed hot or cold, and it’s easy to prepare ahead of time for any adventure. It’s a simple yet flavorful dish that brings a little piece of the UK into your kitchen.

EatingWell: What’s the most memorable dish that you have tried while traveling?

Beckham: One of the most memorable meals I’ve had abroad was during my and Nicola’s honeymoon when I cooked us fresh, homemade tomato pasta inspired by our travels through Italy. We both love pasta and the simplicity and freshness of Italian cuisine. This dish is simple but will always be one of our favorites since it brings back such great memories from the Italian countryside. I’m looking forward to taking another trip together later this year—this time by train when we go to Manchester in the fall. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy quality time with Nicola and allows me to discover new dishes and inspiration along the way.

EatingWell: Why partner with Trainline?

I included the sausage roll I grew up eating in the UK, my fresh take on an Italian Chicken Parmigiana on Focaccia, a sweet and tangy French Tarte Au Citron and a savory Spanish Tortilla. Growing up in the UK and traveling all throughout Europe, rail has always been such a convenient resource, and I’m excited to be able to help shine a light on Trainline to those who haven’t had a chance to use it yet.

EatingWell: What are your favorite snacks to pack for long journeys?

Beckham: I have to say, there’s nothing better than a cold pint and a British Milky Way. In the UK, the Milky Way is a chocolate bar filled with smooth nougat and caramel, which is different from its US counterpart. For me, traveling is all about making the journey as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. 

EatingWell: What’s your favorite pair of walking shoes or sneakers for active travel days?

Beckham: I like to be comfortable when I travel, so I’m usually in a classic pair of trainers—a pair of Converse or Vans always does the trick. Keep it simple!

EatingWell: What does “eating well” mean to you?

Beckham: It’s not just about what’s on the plate. For me, it’s all about the shared experience of sitting down around a dining table and having a meal. I’m happiest sitting down with my wife and family, enjoying a proper meal and creating those irreplaceable memories. It can be a full feast or a simple supper—it’s the laughter, the conversation and the experience of sharing good food together that really makes it special.
