Black Ops 6 Zombies Reintroduces Two Classic Wonder Weapons

Estimated read time 3 min read

It’s nearly time for Call of Duty players to dust off The Tomb map’s cobwebs and get ready to dive into a new Black Ops 6 zombies map. Shattered Veil is arriving as part of the season 3 update coming on Wednesday, April 2.

The new zombies map reintroduces a classic Perk-a-Cola and two wonder weapons from previous Call of Duty games. Shattered Veil’s Double Tap perk will become retroactively available on the rest of the Black Ops 6 zombies map through Der Wunderfizz machine.

The new zombies map sees the main characters returning to mad scientist and zombies lore archvillain Edward Richtofen’s home to discover his motivations during the Dark Aether storyline. This location was previously highlighted in the cinematic trailer for the Liberty Falls map.

What’s coming to Black Ops 6 zombies in Shattered Veil?

The Ray Gun Mark 2 is one of the returning wonder weapons, bringing back some firepower from Black Ops 2.

The upcoming Shattered Veil map looks like it’ll be a similarly claustrophobic experience to The Tomb, forcing players to funnel zombies through long hallways and tight staircases. Luckily, the Black Ops 6 zombies arsenal is getting a major upgrade with this new map.

With Shattered Veil, developer Treyarch is reintroducing the Wunderwaffe DG-2 and Ray Gun Mark 2 wonder weapons.

The Wunderwaffe is one of the original Call of Duty wonder weapons, first appearing in World at War. Its incredibly powerful chain lightning can annihilate trains of zombies with a single button press.

The Ray Gun Mark 2 is an upgraded version of one of the most iconic Call of Duty weapons. Introduced in Black Ops 2, this iteration of the Ray Gun does less splash damage but fires powerful three-round bursts, shredding through the undead. Both of the returning wonder weapons will be available in the map’s mystery boxes.

The Double Tap Perk-a-Cola is also making a return. This perk doubles bullet damage, increases the fire rate of all weapons and allows players to operate bolt-action rifles and pump-action shotguns at increased speed. This perk is a jack of all trades, and its potent buffs make it a fan favorite among the zombies community.

The Death Machine minigun is returning in some capacity, though we don’t yet know if it’s a timed power-up with infinite ammo or a craftable scorestreak with limited use.

The Frost Blast field upgrade is also returning from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War zombies, but it remains unclear which season 3 event will unlock this ability.

Where is the Shattered Veil map and why are players going there?

Richtofen’s mansion is full of oddities, including a dinosaur skeleton just past the front door.

Activision

After the zombies crew finds the Sentinel Artifact in The Tomb map, they are told that they need to bring it to Richtofen’s mansion. The mad scientist and Requiem director lived just outside of Liberty Falls before his disappearance, so that’s where Shattered Veil takes place.

The physical core of the S.A.M. AI resides in a subterranean structure below Richtofen’s residence, and she believes the Sentinel Artifact is the key to finding Agent Samantha Maxis and combatting the forces of the dark aether.

Over radio transmission, Richtofen warns the protagonists not to trust the AI. Whether they listen to his pleas remains to be seen. The story will continue when Shattered Veil is released on Wednesday, April 2.
