Betty Crocker has been a baking aisle staple for decades. The brand quickly became a household name and continues to offer casual bakers a convenient, budget-friendly, and tasty way to whip up a range of desserts, including boxed cakes, cookies, brownies, and more. The Minnesota-based company continues to innovate and offer specialty items such as mystery color mixes and Oreo Cake Mixes alongside its tried-and-true permanent product lineup.
Now, just in time for the busiest baking season of the year, the brand is launching two new cookie mixes to make your holiday kitchen adventures easier than ever.
Betty Crocker Launches Soft Baked Peppermint Sugar Cookie Mix and Soft Baked Chocolate Crinkle Cookie Mix
Betty Crocker just expanded its line of cookie mixes to include two winter classics. Soft Baked Peppermint Sugar Cookie Mix and Soft Baked Chocolate Crinkle Cookie Mix are now available just in time for the holiday season. The Peppermint Sugar Cookie mix adds the refreshing taste of peppermint to soft, chewy sugar cookies.
The Chocolate Crinkle Cookie Mix offers fans an easier way to enjoy the beloved holiday cookie with rich chocolatey flavor in each bite. The only downside? The powdered sugar that gives it a traditional crinkled look is not included in the mix, so you’ll want to make sure you have plenty at home to roll the cookies in before baking. Otherwise, all you’ll need to whip up each batch is softened butter, eggs, and water.
How To Customize Betty Crocker’s New Holiday Cookies Mixes
Betty Crocker’s soft-baked mixes are the perfect solution for hassle-free holiday baking because there are endless ways to customize them. Plus, the cookies make the perfect base for a relaxed night of decorating with family and friends.
- Add flavored chips: Peppermint-flavored baking chips can add bold seasonal flavor that would complement both mixes. Try folding in 1/2-3/4 cups of white, milk, or dark chocolate baking chips at the end of step 2 to add a gooey chocolate flavor to each bite.
- Incorporate crunchy mix-ins: Crushed peppermints make an excellent addition to the Soft Baked Peppermint Sugar Cookies mix. For the chocolate cookies, consider add-ins such as chopped pecans, crunchy pretzel pieces, Heath baking pieces, or red and green M&M’s for a festive flair.
- Top with frosting: Using homemade frosting or your favorite store-bought tub, top each cookie with a tablespoon of frosting for an extra sweet treat. Feel free to add chopped candy cane pieces, sprinkles, or colored sugar. Alternatively, use royal icing to make marble-dipped cookies.
- Combine flavors: Can’t pick just one? Similar to our half-and-half cookie recipe, you can make each mix separately and then combine dough balls to make a cookie that’s half chocolate and half peppermint–the best of both worlds.
Betty Crocker’s Soft Baked Peppermint Sugar Cookie Mix and Soft Baked Chocolate Crinkle Cookie Mix are available at retailers nationwide but only for a limited time, so be sure to stock up on these seasonal mixes before they’re gone.
