Apple’s M3 computers are here and they’re some of the best laptops and best desktops of the last 12 months. The refreshed 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro as well as the iMac desktop are included, and they all have Apple’s latest silicon inside. That makes them some of the most advanced models on the market right now. But it also means they don’t come cheap — but don’t worry, we’ve found the best deals out there to help you get your hands on a new M3 Mac for less.
Two years after Apple last updated its sleek 24-inch all-in-one iMac desktop, the new model comes equipped with the basic M3 chip. There’s also a newly updated 14- and 16-inch inch MacBook Pro for anyone who likes to take their Mac on the go. The smaller 14-inch model can be equipped with the standard M3, the step-up M3 Pro or the high-end M3 Max processor, while the larger 16-inch Pro is available only with the M3 Pro or Max.
M3 MacBook Pro
The 14-inch M3 MacBook Pro starts at $1,599, while the 16-inch model starts at $2,499. Both models feature a stunning Liquid Retina XDR display and a built-in HDMI port and SD card reader, making them versatile machines for creatives and professionals. They’re available directly from Apple, as well as Amazon, Best Buy and B&H Photo. Deals will be hard to come by initially, however.
It’s worth noting that Apple has a trade-in program that can knock hundreds off the starting price of a new Mac in exchange for your old computer, and you’ll get 3% cash back when you make the purchase using your Apple card. For purchases this big, that ends up being a decent chunk of change.
Prices for the 14-inch MacBook Pro start at $1,599, which will score you the basic M3 model with an eight-core CPU, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. If you want to upgrade to an M3 Pro, the price jumps to $1,999, and the M3 Max models are a whopping $3,199.
Best Buy is offering $150 off the basic 512GB model with the standard M3 processor, dropping the starting price to $1,449. At B&H Photo, if you want to upgrade to an M3 Pro, you can save $200 on the space black 512GB model, bringing the price down to $1,799. There aren’t any discounts on the M3 Max configurations at the moment.
The 16-inch M3 MacBook Pro starts at $2,499. Unlike the 14-inch model, the basic configuration comes with the step-up M3 Pro chip, along with 512GB of storage and a blazing 18GB of RAM. Prices start at $3,499 if you want the high-end M3 Max processor.
You can pick up the basic 512GB model in space black for $2,249 at Amazon, which saves you $250 and matches the all-time lowest price we’ve seen. At the moment, this is the only configuration you’ll find on sale.
M3 24-inch iMac
Apple’s all-in-one iMac desktop was last updated in 2021, so the new M3 model is a pretty serious upgrade. It’s available only with the basic M3 chip but features a stunning 24-inch 4.5K Retina display. All configurations come with the wireless Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse, so you’ve got everything you need to get set up right away.
Like the new M3 MacBook Pro laptops, this desktop is available at Apple, Amazon, Best Buy and B&H Photo. Apple is also offering discounts with an eligible trade-in, and you’ll get 3% cash back when you make the purchase using your Apple Card.
This all-in-one desktop starts at $1,299 for the basic configuration, which has an eight-core GPU, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. You can upgrade to a 10-core GPU for $1,499 and double the storage for $1,699.
At the moment, the only deal out there is a slight $50 off the starting price for the silver variant at B&H Photo, which drops the price to $1,249. While the M3 iMac is not currently discounted at Best Buy, it’s worth noting that the purchase does come with free bonuses, including three months of Apple TV Plus and four months of Apple Fitness Plus. Apple’s iCloud Plus subscription is also offered gratis for three months, as is Apple Music. Apple Arcade is free for four months, too. You can also save by trading in your old computer, but trade-in prices will vary.
These are the latest and greatest Macs that Apple has to offer, but we’re sure to see some bigger discounts on older models. Check out our roundup of the best MacBook deals for serious savings on Apple laptops.
