There have been many Batman TV shows over the decades, but for longtime fans, nothing beats Batman: The Animated Series. If you’ve been looking to add the beloved series to your collection, you can score the entire series on Blu-ray at Amazon right now at a massively reduced price. Normally $80, it has been discounted to just $30 for the 12-disc set.
With this box set, you’ll be getting all 89 episodes of the original animated series that ran from 1993-95, as well as the full season of The New Batman Adventures, totaling 109 episodes. You’re also getting a pair of feature films in the form of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and the 1998 movie Batman and Mr. Freeze: SubZero. Sadly, this isn’t a Mortal Kombat crossover.
For the bonus features, everything from previous DVD releases are included, such as commentary tracks, in-depth documentaries, and more behind-the-scenes content. Overall, this isn’t a bad way to enjoy 35 hours, especially when you’re watching–and hearing!–the late Kevon Conroy as one of the best Batmen of all time alongside Mark Hamill stealing scenes as the Joker.
Then there are other episodes, full of intrigue, mystery, and crime as Batman tangles with some of the most nefarious members of his rogues gallery like Two-Face, Scarecrow, and Poison Icy. Oh, and Condiment King.
While Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, the excellent Batman: TAS origin story, is included in this set, it’s worth picking up the 4K release as well. This is a pretty good restoration of one of the best Batman movies of all time, and you can get an almost 50% discount on it at Amazon, where it has been marked down to $17.85.
And to further flesh out your DC Universe, you can pick up Superman: The Animated Series for $39 (normally $70) and the Dark Knight sequel series Batman Beyond for $36 (normally $70).
