Deckbuilder games are having their moment in the sun right now (hello, Balatro), but there are so many more to choose from in this little genre than juggernaut titles like Marvel Snap. In fact, the indie gaming scene offers tons of inventive awesome deckbuilding games that change up the formula in some really interesting and unique ways–often trying weird-but satisfying things that a big publisher might be scared of trying. Balatro is one of the newest examples of this, as it’s compelling spin on poker has resonated with many thousands of players. But if you’re looking to take a Balatro break, right now you can buy a sampling of inventive indie games with elements of the deckbuilding genre for cheap. Humble’s Devious Deckbuilders bundle lets you get seven deckbuilding games for just $20.
There are seven total games in this bundle, and three purchasing tiers, the cheapest being $10 for two games: the old-style RPG Gordian Quest and the turn-based tactics title Floppy Knights. For $15 you’ll get an additional pair of titles, the roguelite Zoeti, and the strategy game Mahokenshi. And for $20 you’ll get all of those games plus three others: the robust, story-focused Book of Hours, a dungeon crawler called Dungeon Drafters, and the “dice-builder” Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles.
Every one of those titles retails for either $20 or $25 each–it’d cost you $160 if you bought all of these at full price on Steam. Getting seven games for the price of one ($20) is a very good deal if you’re a deckbuilding fiend.
This bundle benefits the charity Cool Effect, which fights the effects of man-made climate change. You can choose what portion of your payment goes to that charity, as well as how much goes to Humble and the developers.
