Amazon’s Big Spring Sale includes a bunch of great deals on docking stations for handheld gaming devices, but you should also check out Best Buy’s deal on the Asus ROG 65W Charger Dock. This handy portable dock is normally quite expensive at $65, but Best Buy has slashed the price by more than 50% this week. You can snag the highly rated ROG Charger Dock for only $30. Though designed for the Asus ROG Ally, you can use Asus’ compact USB-C dock with other devices like Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch–just make sure you update the accessory to its latest firmware.
$30 (was $65)
It doubles as both a power brick and a docking station thanks to its built-in HDMI 2.0 port and USB 2.0 port. It connects to your handheld via USB-C to deliver power. As long as the device you want to use supports external displays and doesn’t draw more than 65W of power, you should be able to use it with the ROG Charger Dock.
It supports fast-charging via USB-C and is capable of displaying in 1080p with a 120Hz refresh rate or 4K at 60Hz. You can also use the USB-A port to charge a separate device, which could save you a spot in your power brick. Or you can use the USB-A port for accessories, such as dongles for keyboards, mice, or controllers.
The compact design makes it ideal for travel, so if you bring your ROG Ally or Steam Deck with you on trips, this can substitute for a traditional dock–though you may want to pair it with a budget-friendly portable stand, like this great one from JSAUX.
If you’re looking for a more traditional docking station with additional ports, Amazon has this highly rated JSAUX 5-in-1 Docking Station on sale for only $19 (was $30). Alternatively, you can get an extra USB port with the JSAUX 6-in-1 Docking Station for $28.39 (was $40). If you regularly use your Steam Deck or ROG Ally in docked mode, you may want to consider a docking station with a built-in M.2 SSD slot to increase your storage space when docked. You can save 20% on JSAUX’s M.2 Docking Station, which drops the price from $90 to $72.
Earlier this year, Razer released a handheld docking station with Chroma RGB for $80. While you’re paying more for the name brand, Razer’s new docking station does look quite nice and performs well.
