Bohemia Interactive first announced that Arma 4 was in development in 2022 during a livestream. Since then, there’s been little news about the next mainline installment in the Arma franchise. But during Bohemia Interactive’s 25th-anniversary concert earlier this week, fans who were in attendance got to see the live announcement that Arma 4 will be released in 2027.
Bohemia also streamed the anniversary concert on YouTube, which featured the Czech National Symphony Orchestra playing selections from Arma, DayZ, Ylands, and Vigor. As reported by IGN, the final piece in the concert briefly featured a look at the logo for Arma 4 and its 2027 release window. It wasn’t even on screen very long, but it still left an impression on fans of the military tactical-shooter franchise.
The original Arma was released in 2006, while Arma 2 and Arma 3 followed in 2009 and 2013, respectively. It’s one of Bohemia’s most successful game series, and Arma 3 was supported by a number of DLC releases through 2021. The most recent game in the series, Arma Reforger, was released in 2022 and intended as a bridge between Arma 3 and Arma 4.
Arma 4 will be available on PC and consoles, but further details about the game have yet to be revealed. There are bound to be some upgrades and changes from Arma Reforger, but it may take the better part of three years before we fully know what to expect from the next sequel.
