When it comes to smartwatches, there aren’t too many budget-friendly options in the Apple ecosystem, but the Watch Series 8 remains an excellent smartwatch at a lower price point. With the Watch Series 9 taking over, the older generation is becoming harder to find. We still think it’s one of the best smartwatches you can buy, and that’s doubly the case with extra savings.
The 2022 Apple Watch has all the essential features covered, including workout- and sleep-tracking; heart-rate monitoring; on-wrist notifications; and an always-on display. It was the first Apple Watch to come with a temperature sensor, which can be used for ovulation tracking, and it has neat features like car-crash detection so emergency services and contacts can be notified in the event of an accident. Although it’s not as rugged as the Apple Watch Ultra or Apple Watch Ultra 2, the Series 8 is still crack-resistant, IP6X-rated dust-resistant and swim-proof with WR50 water resistance.
The Apple Watch Series 8 retails at $399 for the GPS-only model, with the GPS and cellular version going for $499 and up. With the Series 9 now the newest model, the Series 8 is officially discontinued by Apple, but that means you can snap up a solid deal on one while supplies last at third-party retailers.
If the Series 8 isn’t for you, peruse our list of the best Apple Watch deals for discounts across all models.
