From summer beach reads to video chat, tablets make an easy choice for many. Bigger than a phone but not as cumbersome (or pricey) as a laptop, they are the perfect hybrid for everyday entertainment. While on the high-end you’ve got devices like the latest iPads, on the affordable side of the spectrum are Amazon Fire tablets. And because right now we’re at the tail end of Fourth of July deals — and also starting to see early Prime Day offers — there are Amazon Fire tablets at even lower prices than ever.
The most dramatic deal is a 58% discount on the Fire HD 8, bringing the price to $55, a $75 savings. The Fire HD 8 features an 8-inch screen, 13 hours of battery life, Alexa-enabled video calling and access to books, music and all of your favorite streaming services. If you want an upgrade to the Fire HD 8 Plus, you’ll still save 46%, with that price coming down to $65 — a $55 discount. With the Fire HD 8 Plus, you get all of the features of the Fire HD 8, plus 3GB of RAM, more cameras and wireless charging in a lighter, thinner design.
Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.
If you’re looking for a bigger screen, the Fire HD 10 is currently discounted by 46%. That means you can nab one for $75, a $65 savings. The Fire HD 10 features a 10-inch screen, 1080p HD display and 13 hours of battery so you can access your favorite apps from just about anywhere. There’s a front-facing camera to allow for easy video calling or content creation on apps. It’s compatible with the Made for Amazon Stylus Pen which allows you to write and draw directly on the tablet using apps like OneNote.
You can also save on covers for the Fire HD 8, Fire HD 10 and Fire Max 11. Though we’re not currently seeing any discounts on the most recent addition to the Fire family — the Max 11 is currently sitting at $230 — we’re keeping an eye on it as Prime Day approaches (July 16 and 17). It’s worth noting that to take advantage of these prices, you need to be an Amazon Prime subscriber.
