Aldi’s Le Creuset Dutch Oven Dupe Is Back for $30

With a veritable rainbow of Staub and Le Creuset cast-iron pots all over social media and cooking shows, it’s easy to find yourself suddenly swooning over dreamy Dutch ovens.

There’s a shade and size of Dutch oven to suit every kitchen, which means there’s just one obstacle to filling our homes with heaps of heirloom cookware: the price tag. Whether you opt for a sunny yellow color or a night sky-inspired navy, a 5.5-quart Le Creuset Dutch oven will run you $420. That’s a pretty big splurge for cookware, even if it is meant to last for years.

Luckily, Aldi is back in the dupe game with a pot that looks a lot like the classic Le Creuset round Dutch oven, and their version costs a fraction of the price. Shoppers can pick up a 6-quart Dutch oven at Aldi for $29.99 while supplies last, with two colors to choose from—green and white.

The 6-quart capacity should be just right for serving groups of five or six people, so you can whip a big batch of Sweet Potato & Black Bean Chili or even a warm loaf of Whole-Wheat Sourdough Bread whenever you want. Each Dutch oven is oven-safe to 482°F, so you know roasts, casseroles and braised dishes are all on the table. The pot also boasts an interior diameter of 10.31 inches and porcelain enamel covering the interior and exterior of the pot—that enamel coating means you can feel free to clean this pot with lots of elbow grease and your favorite dish detergent, as there’s no need to stick to persnickety rules about cleaning seasoned cast iron

We love keeping enameled cast iron around because it’s versatile—you can take a cast-iron dish from stovetop to oven to trivet without fretting about whether it’s oven-safe or pretty enough for guests to see. And the sturdy cast-iron at the core of a great Dutch oven can encourage even heat distribution and retain heat longer than other materials. Since a Dutch oven is meant to trap heat, great heat retention is definitely a must.

Plus, other Le Creuset dupes are hitting Aldi aisles this month, too. If you miss out on the Dutch oven deal, you can still keep your eyes peeled for some of these other picks:

  • Crofton Cast-Iron Fry Pan for $16.99, compare with Le Creuset Traditional Skillet ($175)
  • Crofton Cast-Iron Grill Pan for $16.99, compare with Le Creuset Signature Square Skillet Grill ($225)
  • Crofton Cast-Iron Saucepan for $16.99, compare with Le Creuset Signature Saucepan ($180)
  • Crofton Cast-Iron Bread Dome for $24.99, compare with Le Creuset Bread Oven ($300)

  • Crofton 12-Quart Porcelain Enamel Stockpot for $19.99, compare with Le Creuset Stockpot ($130)

If you’re already fond of Aldi’s deals on groceries, September could be the perfect time to branch out and enjoy some of Aldi’s fun kitchenware dupes. Just be sure you keep an eagle eye on the Aldi finds aisle for the cast-iron piece you’re in the market for—these deals are bound to go flying off the shelves.
