Aldi Has a $13 Copycat of a $60 Pottery Barn Serving Tray

Where will you be on Feb. 9? Will you be home or in a friend’s living room watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles face off in Super Bowl LIX? If so, you’ll also probably be sitting in front of an array of hard-to-resist appetizers that you and others made for the game. Wings, nachos, pizza, mini sandwiches, and more may be spread out in front of you, while creamy dips of all kinds—Buffalo chicken, spinach artichoke, French onion, and others—are interspersed between them.

Is your stomach growling yet? If you need a special tray to serve whatever snacks you’ve prepped for the big game, Aldi has you covered with one that’s both pretty and practical. It looks nearly identical to the $59.50 Pottery Barn melamine serving platter, only Aldi’s version is made of stoneware and bamboo and costs $12.99. Plus, it’s versatile. You might buy it for the Super Bowl or for a Galentine’s shindig to hold mini Valentine’s desserts, but its neutral style will allow you to use it throughout the year for many occasions.

Aldi’s Crofton Round Divided Serving Tray

Aldi’s 14-inch serving tray comes from its Crofton line, the German grocery store’s in-house brand for kitchenware and other home goods. Crofton frequently draws inspiration from big names like Pottery Barn and William Sonoma, and though the pieces may look and function similarly, Aldi’s products are always less expensive.

That’s certainly true of Aldi’s divided serving tray. It has a single wooden bamboo platter that holds the six sections made of white, dishwasher-safe stoneware. Because the bottom platter is made of bamboo, don’t forget this piece isn’t dishwasher-safe.

Aldi also carries a different version of this serving tray that’s a 12-inch square with a round bowl in the middle and four other dishes surrounding it. At $12.99 each, they are $46.50 less than Pottery Barn’s version—that’s quite the savings.

These divided serving trays go on sale at just the right time. They will be available beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 29 in the Aldi home goods Finds aisle for one week only, or until they’re sold out. With the big game and Valentine’s approaching, expect them to sell out quickly.
