A Beloved McDonald’s Menu Item Is Back—and Fans Are Calling It ‘A True Miracle’

If you’ve been hearing rumblings about your favorite McDonald’s dessert returning to the restaurant, you’re in for some great news. The rumors are true: a fan-favorite pie is back at McDonald’s. 

Everyone knows that the Apple Pie is (and always will be) a cult favorite. But that doesn’t mean the hand pie lovers can’t get excited about McDonald’s other, more limited-time varieties. Especially because it’s not just the apple filling that makes the pie so great—it’s a combination of Mickey D’s high-quality filling flavors plus the flaky, sugar-coated crust.

McDonald’s knows it has a success on its hands with its pies—so, just like with so many other favorites, Mickey D’s has capitalized on it. Look how it has treated the iconic Big Mac, taking the OG and making it double the size. Therefore, the more pies the better. Pumpkin & Crème in the fall, Holiday during the winter holiday season, and even a Cookies & Crème last summer.

But what about for those looking for a sweet treat after the holidays? Typically, we’ll get a fruit pie. However, Mickey D’s has sold many fruit pies over the years—like blueberry, lemon, and cherry—so which one is it bringing back? The ever-loved Strawberry & Crème Pie.

McDonald’s Brings Back Strawberry & Crème Pie

McDonald’s Strawberry & Crème Pie has already started popping up at select restaurants nationwide. The sweet strawberry and vanilla-flavored crème pie replaced the Holiday Pie and will be available for a limited time. 

Unfortunately, as with a lot of McDonald’s limited-edition pies, not every restaurant will serve the Strawberry & Crème Pie, which is why Mickey D’s doesn’t really advertise the return. You just have to keep an eye out on your McDonald’s app to see if your local restaurant is one of the lucky ones.

“I just checked the app and we have them,” shared one fan on Instagram. “A true miracle since we never get seasonal pies here.”

McDonald’s first introduced the Strawberry & Crème Pie in 2012 and continued to bring it back pretty consistently during the initial two years after the launch. However, after 2014, the pie quietly disappeared from most menus until 2022. Since then, McDonald’s Strawberry & Crème Pie has returned every year, either in the winter or spring—but only regionally.

That’s because McDonald’s is a franchise, meaning that each franchisee can decide what’s served at their restaurant. Sure, every single Mickey D’s will have the Quarter Pounder, McNuggets, and McFlurry, but limited-time and special items—like the Strawberry & Crème Pie or bagel breakfast sandwich—can vary from restaurant to restaurant.

That means, if you’re road-tripping through a new town, you might want to check the Mickey D’s menu near you—because it’s not just the international McDonald’s locations that have interesting menu items.
