Over the past decade, I’ve gone camping across the country with a humble set of camping gear that I got pell-mell back when I was in college. Now that we’re headed into my twelfth fall camping season, it’s time I finally grab the upgrades I’ve regretted not making in the past. Too often, I’ve envied another group’s camping canopy or portable table while fighting with my own rundown gear. Before I make any camping plans for this fall, I’m going to make sure I have these camping pieces from Amazon, including a Leatherman multi-tool with a fire starter and a Coleman camp stove that has instant ignition.

Coleman Triton+ 2-Burner Propane Camping Stove
For the past 10 years, I’ve used a Coleman camp stove that I truly love, but it’s quite old and requires a match to light the burners. This can be a bit of a nuisance on breezy days, which is why I’m so excited about the Coleman Triton+ propane stove. In addition to side guards that protect your flames from the wind, it has a push-button ignition that instantly lights the independently adjustable burners. With this stove, I won’t have to worry about an errant breeze slowing down my cooking.
Yeti Rambler 26-Ounce Vacuum Insulated Bottle
I will always love my Nalgene water bottles, but I’ve been on the lookout for a vacuum insulated bottle to bring camping this season so I can keep my water cool through hikes. Thankfully, the Yeti Rambler bottle is on sale in the Agave Teal colorway and it happens to be one of my favorite colors. The 26-ounce bottle features vacuum insulation to keep beverages warm or cool and has a leak-resistant straw for easy on-the-go sipping, making it perfect for the campground.
Coleman Instant Canopy
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve envied other campers’ canopies, especially on stormy days. To ensure a good time no matter the weather, I’m grabbing this Coleman instant canopy that’s easy to set up, according to shoppers. Measuring 13 feet by 13 feet, it’s spacious enough to keep a large area shaded from the sun or protected against rain. This fall, I’ll be the camper who can still make a breakfast hash even if some morning showers hit.
Alps Mountaineering Folding Camping Table
While most campsites have picnic tables, I’ve always wanted my own portable option for times when a picnic table isn’t accessible, or if I want to set up a separate cooking station. This Alps Mountaineering camping table has a clever top made of aluminum slats that easily roll up for storage. It’s also $20 off right now.
Oasser Trunk Organizer
Organization is essential to a successful camping trip. While I’ve managed so far using plastic bins, I’m eyeing this trunk organizer with clearly separated compartments and a sturdy frame for organizing all of my gear. Plus, it’s on sale, so I may grab two for good measure.
Gsi Outdoors Spice Rocket
I can’t imagine cooking without my favorite spices and seasonings, so I’ve brought a select few from my kitchen on every camping trip. To cut back on lugging my spice jars back and forth between my pantry and the campground, I’m going to grab this modular spice rocket from Gsi Outdoors that can hold all my favorite spices and live with my camping gear. I love that the individual bottles all twist together into one unit. It holds up to six different spices, which is plenty for me.
Portal Folding Rocking Camping Chair
I’ve always wanted a camping rocking chair but have never gotten around to actually getting one. Now that I’ve done research on all the available models, I’ve got this Portal folding rocking chair at the top of my list. While other rocking chairs fold flat, this one folds up into a tube and fits into a shoulder carry bag for easy transport. I also like that it has a cup holder and side pocket for storing my phone, headlamp, or other camping gear.
Stalwart All-Weather Boot Tray
I like keeping my tent tidy, which is why I usually keep my shoes outside. But for times when I want to be able to put on my shoes before leaving the tent, I’ve been on the lookout for a tray to hold them, especially if they’re muddy after the day’s adventures. This $13 Stalwart boot tray is long enough to fit three pairs of shoes and has a lip to keep any mud or other gunk from escaping.
Leatherman Signal Multi-Tool
I’ve had a few multi-tools in my time as a camper, but they’ve never quite met my needs. For years now, I’ve had this Leatherman Signal multi-tool on my wishlist, and this might be the season I finally grab one. It has 19 features, including a ferro rod for starting fires and a hammer for anchoring tent stakes.
WaterStorageCube Collapsible Water Container With Spigot
Having enough clean water on the campground for cooking and cleaning is essential, especially when the campground’s water spigot is a good distance away from your site. I’ve been meaning to grab a water container for a while for this exact purpose. These WaterStorageCube containers come in a variety of sizes and are collapsible for easy storage. Plus, they have a handy spigot so you can quickly dispense water.
Zmnt Rechargeable LED Camping Lantern
I love my headlamp as much as the next camper, but sometimes it gets lost in my sleeping bag when I need it most. To keep the inside of my tent generally well-lit, I’m eyeing this rechargeable LED camping lantern with a built-in carabiner. I like that I could hook it to the ceiling of my tent and keep it there for a whole trip as an overhead lamp.
