Netflix has released the another teaser for the highly anticipated second season of Squid Game, set to premiere on December 26, 2024. The teaser confirms that Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, will once again participate in the brutal survival game, reprising his role as the sole survivor from Season 1.

The 30-second clip reveals a group of faceless players in green tracksuits, with the camera eventually focusing on Gi-hun’s character, identified by his #456 patch. The new season is set three years after Gi-hun’s victory in the first game, during which he resolves to take down the organization behind the games.

The official synopsis states, “Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 remains determined to find the people behind the game and put an end to their vicious sport. When his efforts finally yield results, the path toward taking down the organization proves to be deadlier than he imagined: to end the game, he needs to re-enter it.”

Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has previously shared that the second season will see Gi-hun returning to the game with a new resolve, driven by a desire for revenge. “The real game begins,” the teaser tagline suggests, hinting at Gi-hun’s quest to destroy the game.

Squid Game Season 2 will be followed by a third and final season, which is slated for release in 2025. Netflix reports that the first season remains the most-watched series on the platform, with over 1.65 billion viewing hours in the first 28 days following its release.
