Drumstick Ice Cream Is Giving Away a Mini Truck

Estimated read time 3 min read

Drumstick wants you to have its ice cream truck. But it’s not the kind of truck you’re imagining.

On Monday, the ice cream company announced it’s putting its absolutely epic Drumstick Cone-themed mini truck up on Facebook Marketplace. But no, it won’t be for sale. Instead, the company is offering its truck for trade.

“At Drumstick, we’re all about great vibes and unexpected fun and adventure, and what better time to kick off the Drumstick Cone Car Trade than during the best season of the year,” Elmer Gonzalez Lopez, the brand manager at Drumstick, shared with Food & Wine. “This season is all about living your best life, enjoying the summer sun, and snacking on Drumstick sundae cones wherever and whenever you want. The trade-in offer is our way of bringing that energy to our fans.”

Here’s how the trade-in works.

On July 22 at 9 a.m. Eastern, Drumstick will post a TikTok about the truck. Fans just need to pop in the comments and add their zaniest (and legit) trade-in offer. Anyone who wants the truck as until August 5 at 11:59 p.m. to add their offer.

“We’re hyped to see the wild, creative stuff people will offer to trade in — all for a shot at cruising in a one-of-a-kind ride money can’t buy,” Lopez said.

As for what kind of offers will move the needle, Lopez shared they are “looking for offers that are so utterly unexpected that they just make sense. Imagine a world where you could win a custom mini truck just by naming your new pet Drumstick, trading in your 2012 family reunion t-shirt, or even something as bizarre as your middle school good luck charm that’s still collecting dust in your bedroom. Did you miss out on getting a Drumstick tattoo a few years ago? Now’s the time. Would it fit perfectly with our TikTok page? Perfect. The more out there, the better.”

Though Lopez did warn that this is a family-friendly giveaway, so no inappropriate offers will be considered.

The contest does have a little fine print, including that it’s only open to the contiguous U.S. and entrants must be 18 or older. You can check all the official rules here

When asked why on earth the company would want to give up this absolutely amazing ride, Lopez added, “For us, the real thrill is sharing this epic car with our fans. We’re also excited to see the creative offers consumers come up with to trade in. Plus, imagine spotting it randomly out in the world — that would be truly iconic.”
