2024 has already been a banner year for fans of Frank Herbert’s Dune. Following the release of Dune: Part Two, the prequel series, Dune: Prophecy, is coming this fall. And while the story takes place thousands of years before the events of the films, the new trailer for Dune: Prophecy sets the universal stakes as the Sisterhood attempts to expand and grow their power in the empire.

The Sisterhood is led by Valya Harkonnen (Emily Watson) and her sister, Tula Harkonnen (Olivia Williams). But they aren’t the only women with power. The trailer also briefly introduces Empress Natalya (Jodhi May), the wife of Emperor Javicco Corrino (Mark Strong). Natalya may have the Emperor’s ear, but the Sisterhood itself is beset by enemies that want to diminish their influence.

Sarah-Sofie Boussnina co-stars as Princess Ynez, alongside Shalom Brune-Franklin as Mikaela, Faoileann Cunningham as Sister Jen, Aoife Hinds as Sister Emeline, Chloe Lea as Lila, Travis Fimmel as Desmond Hart, Jade Anouka as Sister Theodosia, and Chris Mason as Keiran Atreides.

Dune: Prophecy was created for television by Diane Ademu-John, who based the story on Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s Sisterhood of Dune. The series was recently rebranded as an HBO original series, and it will premiere on the premium cable network and on Max in November.
