In this video, I want to talk you through the process of choosing and owning my new favorite purchase this summer. The flexi Spot E Seven Plus as a creator, the process of upgrading my desk is a daunting one. It’s an important decision because with so many options on the market today and with so much jargon, it was really hard to pull the trigger and then commit to a desk upgrade. I became a homeowner in the summer of 2020 I quickly purchased whatever was available on Amazon. So I got a small standing desk about 48 by 24 inches in size and with all the audio and video equipment attached to it in any moment in time in the past four years before I am a new desk, everything was ready to fall right off. So here’s some of the things to consider. When you look for your perfect new standing desk, you want a big enough desk for you, not just the total surface area but the depth width and height of the desk as well. And frankly, most of their lines come with a variety of sizes to choose from because I’m in front of the computer. Most of the day I had decided years ago that I would only purchase desks that come with the automatic height adjustment feature. Specifically, I’m able to set the height for standing versus sitting once and for all. And then just with one button, push the desk will be automatically adjusted to the height because I’m only 54. I prefer a desk that can go as low as 28 inches. This may differ for you based on your height and preference. Luckily, flexi Spot offers a big range between their minimum and maximum height making it very comfortable for me to choose from and adapt. Next is the built in anti collision system. How many times have I changed the height of the desk and then knocked over important equipment like a light or a camera or something else? Let’s just say that it happened more than once. If you live through my experience, you probably know just how nerve racking that it can be. You don’t have enough time to react and reach for the pause button on the standing desk to prevent a collision. Flexi Spot seven plus has the anti collision built in allowing the desk to stop immediately and completely during height adjustment. While looking for more height adjustment for my standing desk, I came across a new concept, I didn’t know before called two stage versus three stage legs. Usually the two stage legs can adjust between 27 inches to 40 inches while three stage legs can go as, as low as 23 inches all the way up to 50 inches. I found the design of a four like desk offers much more support and stability with so many items strapped to my desk. The four like desk, put my mind at ease. Even if I’m leaning or sitting on the desk. What about the desk material, color and size? It has chipboard bamboo, solid wood frame colors also include a gray, white and black. Now, I want to tell you the combination I settled on is the following. My desk material is bamboo. The color is also bamboo and the actual size is 72 inches by 30 inches. What about this idea of curved versus regular desktop? To my surprise, this one decision took longer than I planned. My final decision was the slightly curved design that helped me more easily reach everything on the desk and it looks a little bit more modern in the office too. How do I like my desk? Just a few months later, it’s been transformative. The dusk is beautiful, sturdy and very well made. I can really see myself using this dusk for a very long time and it’s more than just a piece of furniture, but a companion to grow with me as a creator. There’s plenty of space now on my desk to place all the devices I have and more. And I’m really quite motivated to keep it clean and minimal, just like the way I set it up on day one. At least I try the comfort provided by this new desk makes me want to do more work and be more creative. I’m genuinely more excited about being a creator.
