Right before 2022 came to a close, I had my luggage stolen out of a friend’s car. The most expensive item in there? My $200 toothbrush. I was devastated (especially because I reviewed the brush at a previous job and didn’t have to pay for it) and thus began my search for the best electric toothbrush. What I landed on is actually CNET’s “best overall electric toothbrush” pick: the Oral-B Pro 1000 Electric Toothbrush.
At only $50, the Oral-B Pro 1000 has everything I would want from an electric toothbrush: a brushing timer, pressure sensor, three cleaning modes, easy-to-replace brush heads and a small, travel-friendly charger. Plus, it has the ADA (American Dental Association) Seal of Acceptance, meaning that it has fulfilled the ADA’s safety and efficacy requirements.
The most surprising part? I actually prefer the Oral-B Pro 1000 Electric Toothbrush over my dearly departed $200 electric toothbrush. While the expensive toothbrush came with an app, more settings, a glass cup that charged the toothbrush and a travel case, I actually prefer the Oral-B Pro 1000’s simplicity. It’s easy to use, doesn’t take up a lot of space and gets the job done. What more could you want out of a toothbrush?
I have the green option, which is not on sale for Prime Day, but both the black and white versions currently have a $1.95-off coupon available. There is also a pink option, which is priced at just $50.
If you’re an Oral-B fan but want something with more bells and whistles, the Oral-B Genius X Limited is currently 50% off at just $100 for Prime Day. It uses artificial intelligence technology through the Oral-B app to provide real-time advice on brushing habits. Plus, it has a pressure sensor, five cleaning modes, a timer, a charger and a travel case. All colors (purple, black and white) are on sale for Prime Day.
