Lutalo Muhammad’s diet
What are your go-to energy-boosting snacks?
I try my best not to snack between meals but if I do snack, I love dates, the sweet juicy ones. The only trouble is stopping at one!
How do you keep your diet varied when you have to follow such a strict training regimen?
I switch things up by having days when I only eat vegetarian food. Spicy bean burgers and chickpea curries are some of my favourites.
What do you eat on your days off?
Dessert is a weakness! I enjoy cake and ice cream. As long as I train and I eat clean most of the time, I leave room for guilty pleasures.

What would your top diet and exercise advice be for amateur athletes?
Clean up your diet as early as possible. Eating clean will add years to your sports career. The work you put in now will pay off later.
Do you have any advice for getting more protein into your diet?
Eggs are big in my diet. They are a complete protein which means they have all the amino acids to help you grow lean muscle.
Apart from your speciality, what’s your favourite sport/exercise?
I love boxing. I grew up watching the greats of the sport. The best thing about being in broadcasting is that you get to sit ringside after you’ve finished your work.
What’s your favourite recipe on goodfood.com?
The apple pear & walnut crumble looks divine. That’s definitely my next cheat day dessert.
