2020’s A Quiet Place: Part II continued the Abbott family saga.

Paramount Pictures

A Quiet Place: Day One’s noise-targeting monsters are starring in a spin-off prequel set in New York City. Before you head to the theater (preferably side-stepping your squeaky tennis shoes), you may want to revisit the first two films in the suspenseful horror franchise.

The prior Quiet Place movies, 2018’s A Quiet Place and 2020’s sequel, Part II, follow the Abbott family as they try to survive in a world crawling with aliens that hunt by sound. The new installment, Day One, introduces new characters to tell a terrifying about “the day the world went quiet.”

Day One’s cast includes Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff and a (hopefully silent) cat named Frodo. Additionally, Djimon Hounsou is returning to his Part II role. You may want to rewatch that film for a refresh on his character listed in the credits as “Man on Island.”

Unlike the first movies, Day One is directed by Michael Sarnoski (2021’s Pig) rather than John Krasinski. The story is by Sarnoski and Krasinski. You can find tickets to Day One in theaters here, but if past entries in the franchise are what you’re after, you can view streaming methods below.

How to watch A Quiet Place and the Sequel

Interested in streaming A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II? Paramount Plus carries both of the post-apocalyptic horror films. If you have Hulu, you’re partially in luck, as the streamer offers Part II.

Outside of those streaming services, the initial A Quiet Place movies are available to rent digitally for around four bucks each at Amazon and Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu).

Paramount Plus just announced a price increase kicking in later this summer, but you can currently get the ad-supported version of the service for $6 a month or $60 a year. Paramount Plus’ mostly ad-free plan with Showtime programming costs $12 a month or $120 a year. The streamer offers free trials for new customers.

On top of offering A Quiet Place and Part II, Paramount Plus will get A Quiet Place: Day One after its theatrical run.

Hulu may not have A Quiet Place, but it does have the nail-biting follow-up to that flick: A Quiet Place: Part II. The ad-supported version of the streamer costs $8 a month or $80 a year, and the ad-less version runs $18 a month with no annual payment option. Eligible subscribers can take advantage of a free trial.
