Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone‘s Season 2 Reloaded update should arrive next month. Here is everything already announced for the big update, including more weapons, additional multiplayer maps, more Warzone features, and a new Zombies story act.
Call of Duty Season 2 Reloaded start times
Given the number of days left in the battle pass, the mid-point should occur around Wednesday, March 6. And if this update follows Call of Duty’s past update times, Season 2 Reloaded could go live around 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM GMT across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
What to expect from Season 2 Reloaded
Season 2 adds two new weapons to unlock with the SOA Subverter battle rifle and Soulrender melee weapon.
The Vortex: Decay’s Realm Event is announced for the midseason update, which will likely include new challenges and rewards. If this follows previous Reloaded updates, this update should include new weekly challenges to complete, plus some weapon balancing and bug fixes as well.
Warzone
Season 2 launched with the return of the Fortune’s Keep Resurgence map, but the midseason update will continue to add new features to the battle royale. This includes the Research Vessel mobile POI coming to Fortune’s Keep, the new Bunker Buster killstreak, and the Portable Decontamination Station field upgrade that was originally introduced in Call of Duty: Vanguard’s year of Warzone.
Modern Warfare 3
Multiplayer will receive a remastered version of Vanguard’s popular Das Haus map. Two additional map variants will be added to the zombie-themed Vortex multiplayer mode, with Terminal and Skidrow both getting map changes to give an apocalyptic vibe.
The update also adds two new game modes: Juggermosh and Bounty. The new Juggermosh mode is described as a third-person-perspective variant with all players equipped with juggernaut suits in mixed game modes. Bounty is a mode that offers a spin on Team Deathmatch, where the player with the most kills from each team will be marked as a high-value target. The HVT alternates between teams on a time interval and extra points are awarded when the HVT is eliminated.
New content finally arrives for Zombies mode. The Reloaded update includes a new Dark Aether story act, a second Dark Aether Rift to unlock, more schematics to grind for, and a new warlord boss to fight. While this feels like plenty of content, a recent creator call has revealed that players shouldn’t expect any new enemy types or perks to be added to the mode.
Before Season 2 Reloaded launches, players can expect The Walking Dead’s Michonne operator bundle to arrive with the start of The Walking Dead: Fear the Living event. This limited-time event runs from February 28 to March 6, and will allow players to unlock some zombies-themed cosmetics.
