The Boys creator Eric Kripke has announced that the show’s upcoming fourth season has passed a major milestone ahead of its highly anticipated debut this June.

Kripke said on social media that Season 4 is now “completely, totally, absolutely DONE.” The show is known for its extensive CG shots, so work no doubt continued on the newest season long after cameras stopped rolling. Kripke added, “I’m really grateful and so proud of this cast and crew.” He went on to say that Season 4 could the show’s “best yet.”

“Can’t wait to unleash it onto the world,” Kripke said.

The Boys Season 3 debuted in June 2022, so fans have been waiting a while for the newest season to arrive. In terms of the story, Season 4 ups the ante in terms of what’s at stake.

Season 4 sees the introduction of a new superhero, Firecracker (Valorie Curry), who appears to be a friend of Homelander. Firecracker makes her debut in Season 4, but Call of Duty players have been able to run around as Firecracker for some time already.

“The world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son as well as his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late,” reads a line from Season 4’s official description.

There are eight episodes in The Boys Season 4, and new installments will stream on Thursdays. This means there will be a new episode on the 4th of July this year, which seems fitting for a show that loves heroes, horses, and America.

Another new cast member joining the fray for Season 4 is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays a character who finally mentions how silly a name “The Boys” is.

Prime Video recently introduced ads, and the only way to bypass them is to pay $3 more per month. Many are not happy about this, and a class-action lawsuit has been proposed.

June 2024, as it turns out, is a wildly stacked month for new TV show releases. In addition to The Boys Season 4, June sees the release of Star Wars: The Acolyte (June 4), House of the Dragon Season 2 (June 16), and The Bear Season 3 (TBA).
