Untitled Vampire Project

Variety reports Wunmi Mosaku (Loki) has joined the cast of Ryan Coogler’s mysterious new vampire movie set in the Jim Crow-era South. Her character is rumored to be “one of the feature’s female lead and playing the wife of one of [Michael B.] Jordan’s [twin] characters.”

Brightburn 2

James Gunn admitted to a fan on Threads that a sequel to Brightburn is “unlikely” to “ever happen.”

I mean we talked about it early on. But the rights are all fucked up (I only own half) so it’s unlikely that it will ever happen.

Superman

Relatedly, David Corenswet revealed James Gunn’s Superman is based on For All Seasons and All-Star before stating the story is “totally its own thing” at an unspecified recent screening.

Doctor Who

During a recent interview with Empire, Russell T. Davis revealed the “entire plot” of the upcoming Beatles episode is centered around copyright law.

I knew instantly you can never play Beatles songs on screen because the copyright is too expensive. So I’m thinking, ‘How would you do a Beatles episode without Beatles music?’ And that becomes the entire plot. That’s where the idea came from – copyright law! There’s a young director called Sam Arbor who I’ve kind of been mentoring for a while, and when I told him I was going back to Doctor Who, he was just 21 and said, ‘Oh my God, if I had a TARDIS, I’d go back and watch the Beatles recording their first album.’ And I thought for a 21-year-old to say that must mean there’s something to that idea.

Comic Book also has a new poster for the final season of Evil premiering this May 23.
