I have a robust collection of cookware, which is par for the course for a recipe developer who works from home. Numerous Dutch ovens weigh down my kitchen shelves, air fryers lurk in my hallway closet, and ice cream makers take up space in hidden corners. You name it, I probably own it (and have struggled to store it).
But because of my job, I’m always collecting more. Normally, when I acquire a new kitchen product to play with, it takes me a little time to determine how useful it will be. This wasn’t the case for Caraway’s Petite Cooker: Just one dinner proved that it would be joining my roster of go-to cookware. Many meals since, my hunch was confirmed. Not only does this non-toxic pot look beautiful on my stove when displayed, it conveniently takes up very little space in my cabinets when stored. Factor in the new limited-edition colors from the brand’s birthday collection and I was instantly sold.
Caraway Petite Cooker
Caraway’s Petite Cooker is only 2 quarts, which is the ideal size for solo lunches during the workday and sides of couscous or rice at night. Of course, if you’re buying this pot with the intention of making dinner for a family of four people, you’re going to be disappointed. It’s way too small for that. But if you’re hunting for a vessel that cooks up to two servings of food quickly, this is one of the best tiny tools you can buy.
Like all of Caraway’s ceramic cookware, it’s non-toxic and oven-safe up to 550°F. In fact, Food & Wine editors have consistently given the brand the coveted “Best Overall” title during testing, calling its pieces “impossibly nonstick, well-made, and attractive.” They also found them to be impressively durable, which isn’t always the case with coated pans. So long as you don’t use metal tools and primarily wash it by hand, this pot (and any other Caraway products) will last you a long time.
No conversation about Caraway can be had without mentioning design. The Petite Cooker comes in the brand’s classic hues of navy and sage, but it was also just released in limited-edition colors that are somehow even more striking. From an enchanting sky blue to a brilliant brick red, any of these seven colors are worth grabbing before they’re gone.
With so much to love about Caraway’s petite but powerful cooker, we wouldn’t be surprised if this special birthday release sells out quickly. Don’t wait — it’s entirely possible we’ll never see these gorgeous colors again.
