Here at Allrecipes, we hold Dolly, our country queen, in high esteem for her music, her charitable efforts, and her recent foray into all things cooking.
We’re gaga over her line of cast iron skillets and her baking mixes. Parton’s new cookbook with her sister Rachel, “Good Lookin’ Cookin’” is on many of our holiday lists. And last summer, when she did the most adorable collab of kitchen items with Dollar General, we couldn’t wait to get our morning jolt from the Cup of Ambition coffee mug.
Personally, my absolute favorite Dolly drop from the past year, though, has been her line of partyware sold at Walmart. The platter with a vintage picture of Dolly in the middle has a prominent place in my kitchen. I’ve also carted it to friends’ houses on various occasions.
Now, Parton has a holiday version of the partyware line at Walmart, cleverly named “Holly Dolly Christmas,” and you better believe I’m making room on my shelves. (It’s me, hi. I’m the fan who calls this latest Dolly drop a “holiday must-have.”)
Dolly Parton’s ‘Holly Dolly Christmas’ Collection at Walmart
If you’re hosting the equivalent of Friendsgiving for the December holidays, you may want to consider inviting Dolly, or at least her partyware, to the merry shindig. The collection includes items such as plastic cups, paper plates, and stemless wine glasses, all with Dolly’s smiling face and a Santa hat atop her head. There’s also a Holly Dolly wine stopper and a paper napkin set with “Snowline” (say it like Joline) written all over it.
But the must-have of the collection for me is an item that will replace the Dolly platter already in my kitchen, at least until the new year. The Christmas Cheer round melamine serving platter with that smiling Dolly face and Santa hat needs to be in my kitchen, and I’ll be running to Walmart as soon as I can to grab one.
Imagine piling the platter high with holiday cookies and seeing the delight on your guests’ faces as they unearth Dolly’s smile as the cookies dwindle. Or bringing a batch of cookies to someone on the platter so they have it to use over and over again for years to come. It’s just $6.98, making it an affordable platter that will be a meaningful gift for any Dolly fan.
