Best Editor-Loved Early Black Friday Deals

Breville the Smart Oven Air Fryer

Amazon

I would honestly call this the Rolls Royce of air fryer toaster ovens. The proof is in the pudding—it passed pretty much all of our tests with flying colors, and it’s good enough for Stanley Tucci to use. This appliance is my top pick because of how sleek and smart it is. The functions, including toasting, roasting, air frying, baking and more, ensure it’s not just wasting space on your counter. It browned and baked foods well during our tests, proving to be a valuable pick for yourself or a loved one this holiday season.

Yeti Rambler 20-Ounce Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Tumbler

Amazon

My partner has officially taken this Yeti tumbler from me, so it’s high time I grab a new one. Why did he take it, you ask? Well, it does what it says it does. It keeps his coffee piping hot all morning, and it’s so easy to take on the go. The mag slider lid keeps his drink protected on the train but makes it easy to sip when he needs a refreshment. They’re easy to clean, and this particular shape is easy to maintain since there are no odd nooks and crannies.

Y Yhy 6-Piece 30-Ounce Pasta Bowl Set

Amazon

I will never pass up an opportunity to talk about these bowls when they’re on sale. They’re so useful in every kitchen, whether you cook daily or you cook once a year. Because of their hybrid bowl and plate design, they work with so many dishes, making for a better eating experience. Think pasta, stir-fry, grain bowls, stews, and a whole lot more. They hold up to 30 ounces, and you can pop them in the microwave or dishwasher. With six in the set, there’s plenty to go around.

Le Creuset 7.25-Quart Enameled Cast Iron Signature Round Dutch Oven

Amazon

If you were to ask me what my favorite type of cookware is, I’d always say a Dutch oven. Le Creuset is a true favorite of mine, and I think it’s absolutely worth buying one of these anytime, but especially on sale. They’re a tried-and-true favorite of EatingWell, too, ranking as our favorite splurge-worthy option on the market. This is the best time to buy one since there’s still plenty of time for yours to shine with all of the stews, soups and sauces you might make this fall and winter season. And I can attest—purchase one of these, and you’ll have it for years to come.

USA Pan Bakeware Extra Large Sheet Pan

Amazon

USA Pan is probably my favorite classic bakeware brand. The brand’s aluminum pans have excellent heat retention, and I rarely experience sticking using its pans. I have my eye on this extra-large sheet pan because it is one of the most used sizes in my collection. It offers the same material I love, with a ridged design at the bottom to help with airflow and prevent items from sticking too much. It’s roughly 21-by-15-by-1-inches, so there’s plenty of space for cookies, vegetables, or sheet pan dinners

Dearfoams Fuzzy Memory Foam Cable Knit Claire Clog House Slipper

Amazon

The holiday season calls for cozy comfort, and slippers are essential. I’m in the market for a new pair, and so many EatingWell editors love the Dearfoams brand. This pair checks off a lot of boxes for me. I love that they’re full coverage because I need all the warmth I can get when my feet are cold. The insole is memory foam lined with soft material for pure comfort, and the firm sole gives support, too. I love that the opening is lined with faux fur, and the purple color, in particular, is so chic to me. Best of all (aside from the 43% discount)? They’re machine-washable.

Calphalon Classic Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set

Amazon

We love this stainless steel cookware set, and the current 33% discount is pretty tough to pass up. With the discount, this set comes out to around $16 per item, which is great. We love how well the pans heated, and there’s a piece in this set for almost every cooking task. The set includes an 8- and 10-inch fry pan, a 1.5- and 2.5-quart saucepan with lids, a 3-quart saute pan with a lid, and a 6-quart stockpot with a lid. It’s the perfect investment for any kitchen.

JoyJolt JoyFul 24-Piece Glass Food Storage Container Set

Amazon

My partner and I actually cannot stop reaching for these containers. It sounds kind of weird to be so in love with a container, but these JoyJolt ones are great. I love that they’re glass because they won’t stain, warp or absorb odors, but they’re so lightweight. Because of that, we find that they’re still great for on-the-go. The lids are airtight, and everything washes up easily by hand or in the dishwasher. There are three shapes in different sizes, and the variety can’t be beat either.

KitchenAid Artisan Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer with Pouring Shield

Amazon

I think a KitchenAid stand mixer makes for such a special gift if you’re able to stretch for it. (Mom, please, I hope you’re reading this.) They’re an investment, that is for sure, but it’s for a good reason. The one my family owns has been in commission for 20 years. I have my eye on this one for myself because it has everything I need. The 5-quart bowl will hold most recipes. It comes with a whisk, a dough hook and a paddle. It also comes with a pouring shield, which helps keep things tidy. Score one now, and you’ll have it in time to whizz up all your holiday desserts this December.

Vitamix 5200 Blender

Amazon

I will never go back to a standard blender after using Vitamix for so many years. These blenders truly live up to the hype—they crush and smooth everything you throw in it but allow enough control to get whatever texture you really want. This model is our favorite Vitamix because it’s straightforward and powerful enough to be worth the higher price. The front features a dial with 10 speeds, with a pulse toggle to the left. It also comes with a hefty 64-ounce pitcher, so there’s plenty of space for anything from hot soups to cool smoothies

WalkingPad P1 Folding Treadmill

Amazon

I’ll admit it: I’m giving in to the walking pad trend. Although it seems to be sticking around, so I’m not sure how trendy it is anymore. I’m about to move into a much smaller space, so this model has really caught my eye. I have heard great things about it from colleagues. It’s foldable, which is key for saving space. It can go as slow as 0.5 miles per hour or as fast as 3.75 miles per hour, which is perfect for me since I just want to get in more steps. I love that it’s quite fuss-free, so it’s ideal if you’re like me and don’t need anything with too many bells and whistles.

Caraway Nonstick Ceramic Frying Pan

Amazon

Nonstick cookware is finicky. I love having a few pieces in my kitchen because they’re easy to cook with, but they don’t last. This Caraway nonstick pan, however, has been an exception. I have used it every day for, I think, two years, and its nonstick coating is still in great shape, which is more than I can say for a lot of the other nonstick pans I own. I mainly use it for eggs, and the coating is so locked in that I don’t need oil unless I am frying them sunny side up or whipping up egg whites, which are notoriously annoying to work with. I have noticed wear and tear, but that is to be expected with all nonstick cookware. It’s pricey, but I know it will last for you, too, if you treat it well like I do. This cookware also aced our tests too, so don’t just take my word for it.

OXO Good Grips V-Blade Mandoline Slicer

Amazon

This has been such a game-changer for me this year, and I think it’s an excellent grab if you want to try a mandoline out but you’re not sure where to start. The design makes it easy to use because it has legs for standing up and a safety guard for gliding. The v-shape of the blade helps slice through the toughest ingredients, and the surface area is nice and wide, so it will work for both small and large shapes. It’s easy to adjust the thickness of your slice with the dial on the side of the slicer. It also comes with a shredding blade, too. It’s a little bulky to store, but it’s a much better slicer than some of the more compact versions I have owned before.

Emile Henry 9-Inch Pie Dish

Amazon

Perhaps you’re realizing that you might’ve wished you had a proper pie dish for those Thanksgiving pies yesterday. Well, it’s not too late! This Emile Henry version has gotten me through a few holiday seasons at this point, and I’m so grateful for it. It bakes up my pies perfectly since the stoneware holds heat but doesn’t get so hot that it scorches my crust before the fillings are done. Its classic design also ensures every pie is the centerpiece of the table. The highest discount was for the red color, but it has sadly sold out. The twilight blue and sugar white colorways are still discounted slightly, though.

Brooks Women’s Cascadia 17 Trail Running Shoe

Amazon

My original list included the Brooks Ghost Max Cushion Neutral Running & Walking Shoe, a favorite of mine that’s been rigorously tested by us too, so you know they’re good. This was my first love in terms of high-cushion sneakers. I even got my sister to love them, and she wears them daily as a physical therapist because they are so comfortable. Unfortunately, the sale was so good they quickly sold out of most sizes. However, I searched for more sales on Brooks shoes and found this trail running option. I stand behind the brand and these would be a great steal for anyone who likes to run or walk off the beaten path more.
