Some people say that when it comes to running, all you really need is a decent pair of sneakers and the open road. But anyone who’s done it for a while will tell you that it can become an expensive hobby fast.
I’m here to help. After three marathons and countless other races, I know my way around the speciality running store. But I’m also a working mom on a budget, so I’ve called my sources and scoured the internet to find the best Black Friday deals on running gear.

Hands down, Feetures makes the best running socks out there, and members of my running team fight over them at every year’s holiday gift swap. They’ll protect your feet from blisters, wick away moisture and give you the targeted support you need during a race. They’re also extremely durable and come in lots of fun colors. Right now, you can get 20% off sitewide and 25% off bundles, which are packs of three or four pairs of socks. Orders of $55 and up get free shipping.
I’ve tried out lots of lights designed for running in the dark, but Noxgear’s Tracer2 running vest is by far my favorite. The multi-color, LED fiber-optic lights are bright without being blinding, are rechargeable and have a 20-hour battery, while the vest also features reflective straps for additional visibility.
Noxgear’s Black Friday price of $50 represents a 42% savings. I’d also recommend adding on the company’s Tracer Lamp, which is currently 50% off at $20. The company is also offering free shipping. There’s a version of the vest for kids and your dog too.
These are fast becoming my top pick for running sunglasses, especially for those on a budget. Their $25 Swank model has become my default when I head out the door for a run. My daughter prefers the slightly flashier Sanctum ($35). Most importantly, I’ve found both versions to be more durable than comparatively priced running shades.
Through Dec. 12, you can get 15% off sitewide, 20% off a purchase of $50 or more, or 30% off orders of $100 and up. And spending at least $25 will get you free shipping.
From jackets to running belts and water bottles, Nathan makes just about everything a person needs for running. Its Zipster Lite is my go-to running belt for races and their ExoShot 2.0 Handheld Water Bottle is one of my favorites. Through Dec. 3, the company is offering 30% off sitewide. Orders of $75 and up get free shipping.
Sprints makes a variety of things now, but its OG Hats remain its best product. They’re super light and come in a wide variety of wacky patterns. In warm weather, they’ll also keep the sun and sweat out of your eyes. For Black Friday, the company is offering $12 off any three hats, towels or bags, along with $20 off any two tops or bottoms.
