As someone who loves holiday hosting, I’ll make up any excuse to gather friends and family around a festive table filled with food. Leading up to these events, I’m without a doubt, running around to tidy up right until the first guest rings the doorbell. Thankfully, I have a set of cleaning tools that I’ve used for years now to get my kitchen and home sparkling, no matter the pet messes or cooking oopsies that may have taken place. These clever gadgets that I reach for time and time again start at only $5 and include the liquid version of Bar Keepers Friend, this number one bestselling O-Cedar mop, my favorite all-purpose Scrub Daddy power paste, and more.

Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser
I’ve been a longtime user of Bar Keepers Friend, one of our favorite stainless steel cleaners, but didn’t know about the soft cleanser until recently. It’s a life-changing upgrade from the powder version, which gets everywhere when I’m trying to use it. The squirt bottle is easy to aim and this cleanser makes my stainless steel pots and pans shine like new. It’s also great for cleaning the fronts of my dishwasher and refrigerator, which build up stains and smudges over time.
Scrub Daddy PowerPaste All Purpose Cleaning Paste Kit, 3-Pack
I use this Scrub Daddy PowerPaste cleaning kit on my sink and am able to get it so clean that the brightness is nearly blinding. The nontoxic paste and included scrubber are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to removing tough stains and buildup. I’ve also taken to scrubbing the inside of my oven with this duo to remove baked-on gunk.
O-Cedar EasyWring Microfiber Spin Mop
This mop has over 149,000 five-star reviews for a reason. Being able to so easily squeeze dirty water out of the mop head using the foot pedal saves my time and my back. Plus, the spinning action can wring an impressive amount of moisture from the head — it’s like a salad spinner for your mop.
Shark Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum
I love my dog, but I hate everything he tracks into the house. My cordless stick vacuum is one of my favorite cleaning tools, thanks to how easy it is to go from full-length to handheld. I especially love the crevice tool which attaches easily and allows me to get into those hard-to-reach corners. Especially during this season, I’m able to quickly suck up stray leaves that fly in as Jasper comes bounding inside.
Leebein Electric Spin Scrubber
Having an electric spin scrubber has revolutionized how I clean my kitchen and bathroom tiles. The cordless scrubber is easy to maneuver and does all the scrubbing so I don’t risk throwing out my back whenever I’m preparing the house for guests. I love that it has an extendable handle, which also makes it great for using in the oven when I don’t want to reach all the way inside to get to the corners. It’s impressively powerful and I’m filled with awe every time I watch the scrubber head transform my tiles from dirty to glistening.
Skoy Scrub
My mother-in-law once gave me a set of these Skoy scrubs that I thought I’d never use but ended up loving so much that I went out to buy more. They’re flexible like a towel but have incredible scouring power when it comes to cleaning burnt-on foods on the stovetop or long-forgotten stains on that favorite Dutch oven. It’s replaced scrubbing sponges in my household and is truly a kitchen hero. Plus, it’s only $5.
Zeppoli Classic Kitchen Towels, 15-Pack
There’s no such thing as too many kitchen towels in my household. We use them for everything, from cleaning up messes to handling hot pots and pans. Especially during the holidays, when we have cooking projects going on left and right, kitchen towels are especially helpful for sopping up baking spills or oil splatters. These sturdy cotton towels from Zeppoli have over 33,00 five-star reviews and are only $1 apiece right now.
Extendable Microfiber Duster
Another genius buy from my mother-in-law, this extendable microfiber duster is incredible at reaching cobwebs in the corners of rooms or dust on ceiling fan blades. The microfiber heads are detachable so you can throw them in the washer and they’ll come out like new. I especially love that instead of being a flat cloth, the head has little microfiber fingers that can really reach and grab onto dust around the house.
Restaurant Crumb Sweepers
This one’s a bit nerdy, but it has saved me during the holidays when crumbs seem to appear out of nowhere. For tiny, scattered crumbs that can be harder for kitchen towels to pick up, this scraper is the ideal solution. It’s able to get under the crumbs and sweep them right into my hand or a dustpan. It’s also great for cleaning up after your guests have left, to get every last crumb they may have left floating around your dinner table.
