Published in 2023, the gorgeous Dune Deluxe Edition hardcovers have stained edges, foil-stamped cases, illustrated endpapers, and posters on the inside of the dust jackets. Only the original trilogy is available in this premium hardcover format, but hopefully that will change down the line. All three Dune Deluxe Editions are buy two, get one free, so you can get Dune, Dune: Messiah, and Children of Dune for roughly $57 total. This is a great deal considering they each carry $50 list price.
The Dune Saga 3-Book Deluxe Edition Box Set is also eligible for Amazon’s promotion, but it costs $80 at the moment. The box set comes with an eye-catching slipcase, so you’ll have to decide if that’s worth the extra $23. If you do want to take advantage of Amazon’s promotion with the box set, you’ll want to click “other sellers on Amazon” and click add to cart on the option that’s shipped and sold by Amazon for $80–otherwise it won’t be eligible for B2G1 free.

Brian Herbert (Frank Herbert’s son) and Kevin J. Anderson have co-authored numerous Dune trilogies that take place both before and after Frank Herbert’s original six-book saga. One of those trilogies is the Great Schools of Dune, which the the creators of the new HBO series used as the foundation for Prophecy. The show is not a direct adaptation, as Great Schools of Dune takes place well before the original Dune novel. With Prophecy serving as a prequel to the movies, the timeline has been bumped up. As such, Prophecy will likely be substantially different from Great Schools of Dune, so it could be fun to read the books while waiting for new episodes to drop each Sunday.
Sisterhood of Dune, the first book in the series, received a new paperback edition ahead of the show’s premiere. While this edition isn’t eligible for Amazon’s B2G1 Free Book Sale, the mass market paperback edition is included. The third book in the trilogy, Navigators of Dune, is also included in the promotion. Unfortunately, Mentats of Dune, the second book in the trilogy, isn’t featured in the B2G1 Free Sale.
The graphic novel adaptation of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson is featured in Amazon’s promotion, including the Deluxe Collector’s Editions. Book 3, which is the conclusion of the adaptation, isn’t in the B2G1 sale, but Amazon does have a coupon deal that drops the price to only $10.
Prelude to Dune Graphic Novel Series
Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson also have an ongoing graphic novel adaptation of their Prelude to Dune trilogy. Multiple volumes in the series are buy two, get one free. Prelude to Dune begins with House Atreides before moving to House Harkonnen. A two-volume arc focused on House Corrino will close out the adaptation of the trilogy.
Here are the four Prelude to Dune graphic novels included in the promotion:
If you want to complete the collection, here are the Prelude to Dune graphic novels that are not eligible for B2G1 free.
And if you want to read the novels before reading the graphic novels, two of the three Prelude to Dune novels are also featured in Amazon’s promotion:
